Witch Hat Atelier is one of the most popular anime series, which is part of the Spring 2026 anime season. It is a fantasy series that has caught the attention of anime fans because of how it introduced a magical world, as the animation quality and the storytelling end up calling viewers to come back every week, as they are invested in seeing where the story goes.

While it is undeniable that the animation studio has done a phenomenal job in bringing this series to life, fans have found another detail that makes them want to watch this series. The reason is that several cast members ended up sounding familiar. That is because Witch Hat Atelier has multiple voice actors who have worked in Jujutsu Kaisen, which is another incredibly popular show.

Also, most of the time, for a series to work, it needs a strong cast of voice actors, as a seasoned VA can bring life to these characters. They have the power to change how viewers also end up connecting with the overall narrative. Now, a fantasy story like Witch Hat Atelier needed a cast that would be capable enough to bring Kamome Shirahama's creation to life. And with us getting an overlap with Jujutsu Kaisen just ended up working in the favor of this series, as things have gotten to be even more exciting for longtime anime viewers.

Yuichi Nakamura and Kaiji Tang

One of the biggest voice actor crossovers comes through Olruggio from Witch Hat Atelier. In Japanese, he is voiced by Yuichi Nakamura, the same actor behind Satoru Gojo in Jujutsu Kaisen. The English dub creates another connection because Kaiji Tang voices both Gojo and Olruggio. While Olruggio is calmer and more grounded than Gojo, both actors still bring a natural charisma and commanding presence to the character.

Junichi Suwabe and Sean Letourneau

Easthies shares his voice actor with one of Jujutsu Kaisen’s most terrifying villains, Ryomen Sukuna. Junichi Suwabe voices both characters in Japanese, giving Easthies a naturally intimidating screen presence. In the English dub, Sean Letourneau also voices both characters. While Sukuna sounds arrogant and monstrous, Letourneau adjusts his performance for Easthies, making him feel strict and authoritative rather than openly villainous.

Anjali Kunapaneni

Coco’s English voice actress, Anjali Kunapaneni, is also known to Jujutsu Kaisen fans as the voice of Yuki Tsukumo. The contrast between the two characters is especially interesting. Yuki is loud, confident, and fearless, while Coco begins as a gentle and curious girl dreaming of becoming a witch. Kunapaneni successfully changes her vocal style to capture Coco’s innocence and emotional vulnerability.

Misaki Kuno

Brushbuddy has one of the strangest casting overlaps in Witch Hat Atelier. The character shares a Japanese voice actress with Mahito from Jujutsu Kaisen: Misaki Kuno. Because Mahito is such a creepy and unsettling villain, hearing the same actor voice an adorable magical companion feels surreal. Kuno completely transforms her performance, proving the incredible range many anime voice actors possess.

Yui Ishikawa

Yui Ishikawa's voice might have sounded familiar as she voiced Riko Amanai in Jujutsu Kaisen. Despite this character making a brief appearance, the performance of the voice actor left an impact because of how emotional it was. Now she managed to bring the same warmth playing Luluci's character in Witch Hat Atelier. Interestingly, the way this voice actor manages to bring out expressiveness with her voice itself ends up working, especially in fantasy stories that rely on heartfelt interactions.

Marina Inoue

Marina Inoue had voiced none other than Mai Zen'in in Jujustu Kaisen and Alaria in Witch Hat Atelier. Both of these characters are completely different despite having the same voice actor. Mai is known to me as a little sarcastic and is also constantly having her guard up. While Alaira is calmer and more elegant. But the way Inoue manages to shift between such diverse characters highlights how versatile she is as a voice actress.

Emily Neves

Emily Neves has given her voice to Nagi Yoshino in Jujutsu Kaisen. Although this character did not have a major screentime, fans managed to catch on and connect with this voice actor because of how Neves' performance has an emotional and natural touch. That kind of sincerity in voice helped this voice actor play the role of Tartah from Witch Hat Altelier so memoerable. Despite both these shows having different genres, Neves somehow managed to bring out the roles rather authentically.

The story is about Coco, who is a young girl who wants to become a witch. Although she was born as an ordinary person. She was born in a world where the concept of magic is kept as a secret, and it is only revealed to those who are trained as witches. Coco's life changes when she accidentally ends up using forbidden magic, which accidentally turns her mother into a crystal. So to save her, Coco becomes an apprentice to the witch Qifrey and starts to know the truth about magic.

Final thoughts

In the end, with us getting voice actors who have been part of Jujutsu Kaisen, not also part of Witch Hat Atelier, it ends up being a nice surprise for fans. Getting to hear a similar voice just adds to an extra layer of enjoyment for viewers.

Additionally, it is a great platform for voice actors to also showcase their range, as both of these series are incredibly different. And finally, for Jujutsu Kaisen fans jumping into Witch Hat Atelier, recognizing these voices feels almost like discovering hidden magic inside the anime itself.
