Anime Japan 2026 recently finished its huge two-day event at Tokyo Big Sight. There were more than 120 exhibitors at this larger venue compared to previous years, as well as over 50 programs occurring throughout the day.

There were many big reveals at Anime Japan, such as premiere dates for One Piece's Elbaph Arc, Steel Ball Run’s Episode 2, and the Season 3 of Mushoku Tensei, along with numerous other upcoming series.


RED Stage Highlights of Anime Japan 2026 ( Day 1, March 28)

My Hero Academia x Vigilantes

The four voice actors for My Hero Academia participated in a Q&A session about world-building and their characters, to celebrate the show's 10th anniversary on April 3, 2026. Additionally, they are currently working to complete the second season of My Hero Academia: Vigilantes.


Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba

At Anime Japan 2026, voice actors Hanae Natsuki, Kito Akari, Shimono Hiro, and Matsuoka Yoshitsugu discussed their current projects from the franchise.


Jujutsu Kaisen

For the 5th Anniversary, they had a cool connected visual release and live performances with Enoki Junya, Ogata Megumi, Nakai Kazuya, and Sugita Tomokazu.


JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Steel Ball Run

Steel Ball Run's Race Start Celebration is coming out in 2026 with a teaser trailer. The first special (47 min long) covering stage 1 had its premiere on March 19, 2026.


One Piece: Elbaph Arc

The Elbaph Arc special stage featured voice actors Mayumi Tanaka (Monkey D. Luffy), Kazuya Nakai (Roronoa Zoro), and Subaru Kimura (Franky). AiNA THE END will provide the arc's new opening theme. The addition of Yuichi Nakamura to the cast playing Giant Prince Loki has been confirmed. Finally, the One Piece: Heroines adaptation released a teaser trailer ahead of its July 5, 2026, premiere date.

Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation Season 3

The Season 3 teaser for Mushoku Tensei was released at Anime Japan 2026 with a premiere date of July 5, 2030. Voice actors present during this event answered questions about their roles. The new title for the Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation - Chronicle of Echoes game was also displayed with a new trailer.


I Got a Cheat Skill in Another World

The teaser image for the Season 2 announcement was revealed by Yoshitsugu Matsuoka, Akari Kito, Kaori Maeda, and Rina Hidaka, who all talked fondly of Season 1 at the same time.

Sentenced to Be a Hero

Youhei Azakami, Mayu Iizuka, Shizuka Ishigami, Shoya Chiba, and Yoko Hikasa all helped to make the official announcement of Sentenced to Be a Hero Season 2.


Netflix Special Stage

Dandelion's anime (based on Gintama's one-shot by Hideki Sorachi) is getting its first visual and worldwide release date, along with a trailer to show all of its details. The announcement was made in a video featuring Chikahiro Kobayashi (voice of Dandelion) and Megumi Han (voice of Dandelion).


Smoking Behind the Supermarket with You

A new trailer and key visual, along with opening and ending theme artist announcements, have been made. The updates were announced by Takuya Sato (voice of Kitarō), Seena Hoshiki (voice of Aki), and Shinya Takahashi (voice of Kōichirō).

Blue Box Season 2

Confirmed October 2026 release date of Blue Box Season 2 was announced during Anime Japan 2026, with a teaser visual and trailer reveal. Studio Electric Circus takes over animation production from Telecom Animation Film.

Shunsuke Takeuchi, Daiki Yamashita, and M·A·O attended the special stage where the non-credit opening theme video was released.


Black Torch

The July 4 premiere date of Black Torch was confirmed, with two more new cast members, Toshiyuki Morikawa (Amagi) and Nobuhiko Okamoto (Koga), who were also announced.


RED Stage Highlights of Anime Japan 2026 (Day 2, March 29)

Oshi no Ko

Takeo Otsuka, Yurie Igoma, Megumi Han, Manaka Iwami, Rumi Okubo, Kent Ito, and Tomoyo Takayanagi hung out to chat about wrapping up Season 3. After that, it was revealed that Season 4 will start right after Oshi no Ko Season 3 ends.


Re: ZERO Season 4

The credit-less opening theme video and Episode 1 preview were released before the April 8 start date of the season. Season 4 will have 19 episodes as the voice actors presented the announcements.


Daemons of the Shadow Realm

Episode 1 preview images and six character visuals were shown ahead of the April 4, 2026, premiere. Kensho Ono, Yume Miyamoto, Yuichi Nakamura, and Misaki Kuno attended.

Lost Echoes has revealed a new trailer, visual, and release date for the movie. Shadow Garden's cast, Seichiro Yamashita, Asami Seto, Inori Minase, Ai Fairouz, Hisako Kanemoto, Ayaka Asai, and Reina Kondo attended the presentation.


Rascal Does Not Dream of a Dear Friend

A teaser trailer and premiere date of October 16, 2026, were revealed by Kaito Ishikawa, Asami Seto, Aya Yamane, and Manaka Iwami.

The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten Season 2

Taito Ban, Manaka Iwami, Taku Yashiro, and Haruka Shiraishi highlighted Season 2's must-see moments. A compilation revealed Mahiru Shiina said "Amane-kun" 180 times overall. Marika Kono joins as Ayaka Kido.


BAKI-DOU

BAKI-DOU: The Invincible Samurai Part 2 has been announced with a trailer and visual, and will be released exclusively on Netflix soon. The first season of Baki-Dou consisted of 13 episodes, which premiered on February 26, 2026.


WHITE Stage Highlights of Anime Japan 2026 (Day 2, March 29)

Kindergarten WARS

A new teaser visual and trailer, along with three cast members. The show will be released during Spring 2027 with Hitomi Owada as Hana, Satoshi Hino as Luke, and Mariya Ise as Silvia.


Suikoden: The Anime

The new key art features 8 new cast members, and they are: Jun Kasama as Culgan, Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as the Seed, Megumi Han as Leknaat, Shota Hayama as Gengen, Ryunosuke Watanuki as Rikimaru, Saaya Hitomi as Rina, and Mizutama Um.


Additional Major Announcements

A trailer, key art, cast list, and a release date for July 2026 for The Saga of Tanya the Evil Season 2 were shared by Aoi Yuki, Saori Hayami, Shinichiro Miki, and Haruka Tomatsu.

Tokyo Revengers Season 4: War of the Three Titans Arc has released a trailer with the target date of October 2026 and has added four cast members.

Made in Abyss has released a key visual for Part 1 of their upcoming film trilogy "Awakening Mystery". This will be the first theatrical release of the series and will be in theatres starting October 23, 2026 (in Japan).

New character visual, special video, and first time seeing Yuikawa Asaki, Yano Hinaki, Hino Mari, Suzushiro Sayumi, and Toya Kikunosuke on stage in Season 2 of the Elusive Samurai.

The Barbarian's Bride has released a new video trailer to promote their series premiere date, now set for April 9, 2025. In addition, they have added voice actor Aki Toyosaki.

A release date of October 2026 has been announced for the upcoming anime series Tougen Anki: Nikko Kegon Falls Arc, along with two new additional cast members: Nobuhiko Okamoto (Hagure Nekosaki) and Kent Ito (Yu Innami)

Anime Japan 2026 was able to provide a clear look at what the anime industry will look like next year, with plans to also expand to Osaka in 2027 for greater celebrations.
