Black Clover Season 2 Episode 1: Release date and everything we need to know

Black Clover Season 2 Episode 1 will open with the Magic Knights of the Clover Kingdom getting ready to save Yami and other members of the group who were abducted by the Dark Triad. Asta is working with Liebe to reach Devil Union. Yuno is preparing to fight Zenon again. The anime has been off-air since March of 2021, so the new season is long overdue.

Black Clover Season 2 Episode 1, titled "War Begins", will be released on October 3, 2026. It is expected to air on Japanese TV at 11 p.m. JST. Crunchyroll has not declared the exact time for the release yet.

Crunchyroll owns the global streaming rights for the new season. Crunchyroll also streams Season 1, which is also available on Netflix. Black Clover Season 2 Episode 1 premiered theatrically in a limited release in both Canada and the United States on September 21 as part of Crunchyroll's Anime Night.

The show airs weekly in Japan on TV Tokyo and its affiliates. BS TV Tokyo comes on air on October 7.

Anime Times, Lemino, U-NEXT, and Anime Hodai have their premiere date set for October 4. Meanwhile, Amazon Prime Video, Disney+, Hulu, and ABEMA start streaming the anime on October 8.

Black Clover Season 2 Episode 1 synopsis

The episode is called "War Begins" and is the 171st episode overall. Black Clover Season 2 Episode 1 starts with the Magic Knights preparing to rescue Yami and others who have been kidnapped by the Dark Triad.

Asta and Liebe complete the Devil-binding Ritual and now commence working on Devil Union. Yuno has a different aim. He wants to defeat Zenon, who has already defeated him once, and rescue Vangeance.

Meanwhile, Morris is ready to open the underworld gate from the Spade Kingdom. Morris is a magical scholar who was thrown out of the Diamond Kingdom. The synopsis says the awaited battle between Magic Knights and the Dark Triad begins.

Ayataka Tanemura returns as director. He also directed Episodes 153 to 170 of Season 1. The crew behind Black Clover Season 2 Episode 1 includes:

Where the story stands

The first TV anime aired on TV Tokyo and had a total of 170 episodes from October 2017 to March 2021. The anime is about Asta, a boy who is born without magic, and his rival Yuno, who both aspire to become Wizard Kings.

The manga written by Yuki Tabata concluded on May 1, after being serialized for eleven years. The story still continues on screen in Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King, which was released in 2023 on Netflix.

The second season covers the first of the remaining two arcs. The raid on the Spade Kingdom is happening, as the Dark Triad has already captured Yami when the storyline begins.
