Renji’s role remains among the more stirring ones in Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War - The Calamity Episode 8. He rushes to Ichigo’s side after he can finally help him amid his own injuries, even though he knows that there’s hardly any hope for them to win.

This leads to Renji suffering, for his endeavor to help Ichigo resume fighting calls him to bear wounds that he’d rather avoid. But at that moment, his steadfast personality allows Ichigo to make a decisive strike against their opponents and reinforces the friendship of the two heroes in the final points of the war.
