Blue Lock Chapter 353 begins at the exact point where the previous chapter ended. Teddy Knight, the latest recruit in the New Gen World 11, shows off his skills and beats the Japanese team players with ease.

Everyone is shocked to see how different he plays from what Blue Lock teaches, and they can’t comprehend how he manages to do it.

While Teddy easily goes past the team, he uses mocking words while doing so. He calls himself a “trash doll” instead of labeling himself as an egoist like Blue Lock teaches everyone to be.

Isagi and Rin are ready to take care of business with Teddy, and Rin's the first one in. She tries to overpower Teddy, even grabbing him and lifting him off his feet.

But it doesn't faze Teddy. He spins in mid-air and keeps control of the ball. Teddy tells Rin that egoists like him are always in search of destruction instead of real strength.

At the last moment, Isagi steals the ball away from Teddy, surprising him and causing him to lose his confidence in his no-ego theory.

They briefly talk, during which Teddy tells Isagi that he knows nothing about egoism, but Isagi retorts that he does not sound too sure of himself. Teddy leaves soon afterwards, saying he has learned everything he wanted to learn

When Teddy's gone, the whole group acknowledges he's nothing more than fear incarnate. No one can seem to tackle him alone, even with two players working together.

Isagi channels this fear into a positive thing in Blue Lock Chapter 353. He tells everyone they have been playing like they are the absolute best in the world while France already showed that they are not.

Isagi knows that Japan cannot be compared to established powers such as Brazil or England. Blue Lock's players can be seen as a bunch of outlaws whose success does not come from talent, but from sheer determination.

Isagi refers to them as a team of irregular underdogs and believes that they should take on the world. His collar and chain burst as he makes the declaration to symbolize his ego breaking free.

He unifies the team behind a common dream rather than pursuing their individual dreams. Last but not least, Blue Lock Chapter 353 ends with a countdown timer: 24 hours to the match against England.
