Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 31 has been released, and the story has offered its readers one of the most layered chapters the series has released so far. Before diving deeper into the chapter into what happened in this chapter, some key highlights are that Mamushi is causing chaos all over Konoha, Sarada is facing the consequences of using her Mangekyo Sharingan, and Shikamaru is taking an extreme gamble.

It seems like the story has reached a point where multiple storylines are colliding, and they are heading towards the major climax where this antagonist will have to be taken care of before he continues to cause havoc in the village, which ends up harming innocent civilians. Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 31 starts with Mamushi's clone about to attack Lord Kobu.

Koji is strongly advising Inojin to snap back and remove the Mind Transfer Jutsu because if Kobu is killed, Inojin will die as well. But this shinobi is not afraid of death, and he is willing to put his life on the line to save Kobu because he is a civilian. The reason why Mamushi clones are so aggressive in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 31 is that as the number increases, the intelligence of the clones drops, which somehow makes them angrier.

Despite orders not to destroy the village, they’re using Fire Release techniques recklessly. There is also growing suspicion that Mamushi possesses a tracking ability similar to a predator locking onto prey once it catches a scent. This becomes especially dangerous when tied to Eida because if she uses her ability, Mamushi may be able to detect her position.

Meanwhile, Sarada and Delta have shown perfect teamwork while fighting against these clones in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 31. Sarada used her Mangekyo Sharingan and brutally destroyed multiple clones of Mamushi, and asked Delta to take care of those who are outside her vision. Interestingly, Delta also got a chance to showcase her abilities as she skillfully fought against the Mamushi clone.

Although the twists arrived in a shocking turn of events, as Sarada's eye bled. It was because she went overboard with her Mangekyo Sharingan use. This storyline came to a halt in an unfortunate tone, where it is evident that she has started to lose her eyesight.

The Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 31 then swiftly shifts to Kobu, who is surrounded by these clones, and it seems like there is no way to escape. Just as Kobu seems doomed, Boruto arrives. With Karma activated, he slices through multiple Mamushi clones in a single motion. He then absorbs the flames using Karma, mirroring Momoshiki’s absorption ability from Part 1.

But this decision is not simple heroism. By saving Kobu, Boruto preserves a political threat. Kobu makes it clear that the interrogation and investigation into Shikamaru’s actions aren’t over. In fact, Boruto’s involvement confirms suspicions that Shikamaru is secretly cooperating with him.

With the clone count surpassing 200 and multiple teams nearing exhaustion, Shikamaru pushes the emergency button. The new plan is to lure Mamushi toward Eida and unleash Daemon. Eida in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 31 is visibly uncomfortable with being used as bait, but Daemon couldn’t be happier. For three years, readers have waited to see him fight seriously. We have been told repeatedly that he has never used his full power. Now, that moment may finally come.

Final thoughts on Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 31

On that note, the chapter comes to an end, and the Mamushi conflict likely continues into the next volume, possibly spanning two or three more chapters. But this installment clearly sets up a turning point. The storm is coming, and Konoha may not come out of it unchanged.
