You are already familiar with this name if you have been watching anime for some time. One of the most well-known voices in the business, Miki is best known for his portrayal of Roy Mustang in Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood. That smooth, calculated delivery he gave the Flame Alchemist made the character iconic, and it's part of why this casting news is getting so much attention.

However, Roy Mustang isn't the only thing that makes him famous. He is the voice of Urahara Kisuke from Bleach, Benn Beckman from One Piece, Takumi Fujiwara from the Initial D franchise, Kojiro from Pokémon, and Mirai Sasaki (Sir Nighteye) from My Hero Academia. In addition, Miki is the voice of Atsuya Kusakabe in Jujutsu Kaisen, giving him a foothold in some of the most popular anime franchises at the moment. He's the type of voice actor whose inclusion in a cast instantly indicates that a character will have significance.

Daemons of the Shadow Realm episode 6 threw a lot at the audience. In an attempt to capture the twins, Yuru and Asa, a group of assailants broke into the Kagemori estate. They didn't have a good experience. However, one figure stuck out amid all the mayhem. Ivan Yosano appeared with a pair of swords at his hip and instantly distinguished himself from the other assailants. But it was what he didn't do that made him intriguing. Yuru had his bow drawn, and Yosano wasn't about to walk into that. He held back, sizing up the situation, clearly calculating whether the fight was worth taking.

It speaks a lot that someone who appears to be an experienced fighter would exercise such restraint. Miki's portrayal of another character who understands when not to act in Daemons of the Shadow Realm is amusingly ironic, since Roy Mustang himself was always known for being several steps ahead. Although Yosano didn't have much screen time in this episode, fans had high hopes for the character just from his restraint. He's not here to be a throwaway villain.

For those who haven't already jumped in, Fullmetal Alchemist creator Hiromu Arakawa's most recent creation is Daemons of the Shadow Realm. The story centers on Yuru, a teenage boy who lives in a secluded mountain village, and his twin sister Asa, who has been imprisoned due to a mysterious task she does for the village.

The twins are drawn into a world of daemon users, covert groups, and other deadly people who are after them when everything begins to fall apart. Daemons of the Shadow Realm debuted on April 4, 2026, and a same-day English dub is available for streaming on Crunchyroll. And yes, it absolutely has that Arakawa energy, where Roy Mustang's universe and this one feel like they share the same DNA, even if the stories are completely different.

Conclusion

Evidently, Ivan Yosano is not finished yet. A character with that kind of voice and design doesn't just appear to be in the background. Roy Mustang's voice is tied to one of the most enigmatic characters in Daemons of the Shadow Realm, which is a very positive indication of what's to come.
