Jujutsu Kaisen fans may have underestimated Mahoraga's true power, and Modulo explains it

Not only was the Divine General not responding to cursed techniques or physical hits, but it was also adapting to the very existence of its opponent.

Mahoraga's been a big deal in Jujutsu Kaisen as the most powerful shikigami of the Jujutsu Sorcers to date. It is the 10th and last shikigami of the Ten Shadows Technique and has gained its prestige due to Mahoraga being basically invincible. No Ten Shadows user has ever been able to tame Mahoraga's power since the history of the Zenin Clan.

The Wheel over Mahoraga's head is the mechanism that controls Mahoraga's adaptation to any perceived threat or phenomenon. With this ability, Mahoraga was able to become immune to Gojo's Infinity and was also able to survive Sukuna's Malevolent Shrine. Mahoraga will not only adapt to the attacks made against it, but it will also develop a counter to said attacks.

The pattern of battle showed the way adaptation functions. The simpler actions used to counter other creatures were able to complete a maximum of two rotations vs direct counter, while the Limitless complex action, on the contrary, requires three or more times the exposure for Mahoraga to fully neutralize Limitless, as well as increasing the speed of rotation. Therefore, this provided both a way to strategize and set boundaries for the creature.

Breaking New Ground in Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo

All that was known before has been destroyed with the latest chapter. Dabura was confused as to how Mahoraga was adapting before any attacks on his part. Even more unsettling, Dabura has now realized that Mahoraga is adapting to his cursed energy and may have been adapting to his entire existence. This is more than just countering specific techniques or attack patterns, as Mahoraga will also change itself to defeat an opponent's presence or dominance for real.

Dabura thinks about how serious the situation is and asks himself if he can adapt to being alive. The way both fighters are so quiet really makes this moment feel creepy. Mahoraga does not have to use words to show how he will adapt and become stronger than he has before; through his silence, he is evolving into something that has never been seen before in all of Jujutsu Kaisen history.

The True Extent Finally Revealed

For years, fans have been arguing over how powerful Mahoraga actually is. Many have believed that he is powerful but has many weaknesses. Most people would agree that if a person could outpace Mahoraga's adaptation speed, then it could easily be defeated.

The mere existence of adaptation completely changes its chances of winning or losing a fight or match. Should Mahoraga adapt to the actual concept of defeat, will it still have a chance at winning if the attack against it is an instant kill? The wheels of time will eventually outlive and surpass all things, including Mahoraga Death. Therefore, the Divine General has risen to a different level of threat for the first time since the beginning of time.

Mahoraga's ability to change and improve through evolution/mutations demonstrates the limitless concept of adaptability. All the limits that fans thought were reached were only the limits of testing for Mahoraga's Shikigami power.
