Interestingly, this chapter starts with a Sorcery Bureau agent being held prisoner where the Mikaboshi clan are. Turns out that the Mikaboshi folks usually distinguish their people in terms of pure-blooded members and those who have mixed blood. Those who have black eyes and black fingernails are considered to be connected with the pure-blooded Mikaboshi.

Additionally, those who have compatibility with the Datsenseki stone have an advantage. Turns out that in Kagurabachi Chapter 136, we see the six guardians who are responsible for the faction's powers, and their names are Audiu, Bonsoro, Raw-Law, Yukifu, Zukon, and Shurin. Their designs make them look distinct from each other.

Three characters stand out the most: masked Bonsoro, expressive Yukifu, and imposing Zukon. Until now, the Mikaboshi people have already caused damage on Japan's southeastern coast, and they plan to now head towards Tokyo. However, they still need to find where the Datsenseki stone is or where Princess Chiaki is.

Despite their military advantage, the Mikaboshi in Kagurabachi Chapter 136 find out that something unusual has happened on the battlefield. A lone survivor reports that Japanese forces have forged a sword which has been infused with the power of Datsenseki.

The revelation leaves several guardians doubtful. Their people worship the stone and regard its power as something sacred, making the possibility that Japanese swordsmiths have learned to harness it particularly alarming. But Shurin explains that swordsmiths might create prototype weapons when experimenting with new materials.

Rather than surrendering, Japan may have been buying time to develop an entirely new arsenal. Shurin in Kagurabachi Chapter 136 decides to investigate the operation personally, recognizing that the potential consequences could threaten the Mikaboshi’s dominance.

One of the major highlights of Kagurabachi Chapter 136 is when Shurin is shown to have the ability to make changes in his appearance. When he approaches the agent who is captured, his true appearance is revealed. He does not seem to have pure-blooded Mikaboshi traits.

Additionally, he even reveals that he is Audiu's younger brother. He now believes that his actions need to prove that he is worthy because his physical body cannot provide the visible evidence expected of someone who is pure-blooded.

Although his appearance separates him from the others, his relationship with his brother could become an important part of the story. In the end, Kagurabachi Chapter 136 ends with the story returning to the captured Sorcery Bureau agent, whom Shurin begins interrogating about Japan’s plans.
