Tank Chair anime confirms October debut with new PV, cast, and theme songs

Tank Chair anime just locked in its arrival window, ending months of anticipation. Bandai Namco Filmworks confirmed the premiere in the latest update, and additionally, it revealed several new cast members and what the theme song would be about.

Tank Chair anime is set to debut on Japanese television. Tokyo MX starts airing the show on October 4 at 11:00 p.m. JST, followed by other networks to complete the overall domestic airing.

The plot revolves around Nagi Taira, once the fiercest assassin, but right now in a coma after a bullet meant for his sister hit him. His sister, Shizuka, realizes that the only way to revive him is to put him in real danger, and this will bring the siblings on the road to his recovery. All this will become more complicated with the arrival of Nagi's former classmate Naozumi Kurosaka.

The role of sound in the world of Tank Chair is crucial. The theme song of the anime, "DALALA," is performed by SiM, the reggae band that has found enormous success in Japan. Another song that completes the series is "SYNC," a beautiful song by singer Daoko that reveals the relationship between the two characters.

Two fresh names are stepping into the Tank Chair anime lineup, filling out roles tied closely to the story's central mystery.

  • Yurina Amami as Dr. Radio — A reclusive scientist hiding inside an old, abandoned radio tower. Amami's other credits include Umamusume: Pretty Derby and Heaven Burns Red.
  • Gen Sato as Uzu — A newcomer placed into Class A of the story's secretive institution, the Academy. Sato has previously voiced roles in Dr. STONE and Call of the Night.
  • Sensei — The Academy's founder, described as ruthless and immensely powerful. This character's voice actor remains unannounced.

Tank Chair anime follows its debut on Tokyo MX, airing on multiple other networks shortly after the break of dawn. After BS11, CBC and MBS follow in the two days after the debut. Viewers outside Japan can access the source manga through Kodansha USA Publishing, which has the overseas rights, or by reading it digitally on the K MANGA platform.

Tank Chair manga has been a blockbuster since its rollout in the Magazine Pocket collection in 2022 and has managed to cross the million-copy mark already. After becoming a hit in Magazine Pocket, it was shifted to Monthly Shonen Sirius in 2024 and released the tenth volume in March of this year.

The anime comes into the new fall season with a reputed planning ahead and as one of the most expected newcomers based on the plot of the ideas of strain, fidelity, and survival.
