Rent-a-Girlfriend Season 5 Episode 8: Kazuya waits forever while Chizuru smiles and leaves

Rent-a-Girlfriend Season 5 Episode 8 picks up right where the last cliff-hanging episode ended. Kazuya goes through all the crazy stuff happening in his head from his last encounter with Chizuru. He keeps reliving everything with some of the funniest stuff from awkward comedy to a serious romantic moment, all at a typical Rent-a-Girlfriend slow-burning style throughout the episode.

In Rent-a-Girlfriend Season 5 Episode 8, Kazuya and Chizuru finally get to meet again at Kazuya's apartment (with just the two of them!), and they actually have an unexpected moment of fun together. Kazuya finally asks Chizuru something that stops her in her tracks, and at the end, he is smiling, but it doesn't fix any of the issues between them.

Kazuya Can't Stop Thinking About Chizuru

In Rent-a-Girlfriend Season 5 Episode 8, Kazuya's head is in chaos. He has been staring at the box of chocolates Chizuru gifted him previously, as if it’s a holy relic. He keeps replaying her previous statements about her job as a rental girlfriend and all the clients she’s had who’ve grown feelings for her each time.

Additionally, she made it explicitly clear that the person with whom Kazuya is forming a connection isn’t really her. However much he knows this, he can’t get rid of his feelings. He daydreams that Chizuru confesses to him, but reality brings him back, and the hole in his chest remains the same. He truly loves her and longs to tell her, but he feels paralyzed.

Mini Shows Up in Rent-a-Girlfriend Season 5 Episode 8

Mini enters Kazuya's place dressed as a nurse for one of her video shoots. The first thing she does is assess what's going on and interrogates Kazuya about his date with Chizuru. Upon hearing that Kazuya has nothing meaningful to say concerning his date with Chizuru, Mini is clearly frustrated.

Kazuya mumbles that he didn't get to say much to Chizuru. Mini gets upset and yells at Kazuya, and tells him that he should have done something bolder during his date. Mini also tells Kazuya that she's been rooting for him much harder than he has been, and tells Kazuya and Chizuru are both impossible to leave.

Chizuru Shows Up at His Door

As Chizuru practices yoga in her living room, she finds herself constantly distracted by thoughts of Kazuya. She is clearly obsessed with him, and much to her regret, she can't seem to stop thinking about him. Later that night, after making an important decision, she arrives at Kazuya's place unannounced.

In Rent-a-Girlfriend Season 5 Episode 8, Chizuru makes her first independent visit to Kazuya's place. She tells him that she still feels bad about Ruka and that Ruka was the main reason she had been avoiding him. Chizuru also says she wants to fix the situation and asks Kazuya for assistance.

A Quiet Moment and a Big Confession

Kazuya's pulling up Mini’s channel on his laptop to get her in a more relaxing mood with this video of her debating on what a bra size should be, while still wearing a push-up. Chizuru couldn’t help but laugh out loud. This was a moment between Kazuya and Chizuru where they really got to connect.

Once their laughter dies down, Chizuru states she must go, but Kazuya follows her outside. Calling Chizuru's name, Kazuya expresses that he will wait for her, regardless of the time, before she can tell him how she feels about him. Rent-a-Girlfriend Season 5 Episode 8 ends with a quiet smile crossing Chizuru's face. No confession, no promise — just a smile that leaves everything open.
