This season's premiere started by reminding fans why Tanya is undoubtedly one of the most terrifying military commanders. It started with her praying casually just before shooting the statue's head off. This moment in the anime has perfectly captured her deep-rooted hate of Being X.

Then we see her being promoted to command the Salamander Battalion. It is a newly formed team, and it does not take a lot of time for her to realise that most of her soldiers do not have proper combat experience. Soon, she is made to compensate for their mistakes, and Tanya personally annihilates the enemy aircraft.

Later, she made a harsh criticism of her commanders for making poor battlefield decisions. Although her using an overly sweet voice just frightened everyone more than her usual threats. Most importantly, in this episode, we see that Mary Sioux returned alive, once again swearing revenge against Tanya.

After seeing how the premier concluded, viewers could expect the following from Saga of Tanya the Evil II Episode 2:

  • Tanya may begin transforming the Salamander Battalion: Episode 1 made it clear that Tanya's biggest obstacle is no longer the enemy but her own inexperienced troops. Rather than relying solely on overwhelming firepower, Saga of Tanya the Evil II Episode 2 could focus on her ruthless methods of turning the Salamander Battalion into an elite fighting force.
  • Mary's revenge could finally begin: Mary Sioux's return was one of the biggest moments of the premiere. Although Saga of Tanya the Evil II Episode 2 may not immediately feature a direct confrontation, it could begin laying the groundwork for what many expect to be one of the season's defining rivalries. Their ideological clash has always been just as important as their battlefield encounters.
  • The war is about to grow even larger: While Tanya managed to survive the initial battles, the broader conflict is only becoming more complicated. Saga of Tanya the Evil II Episode 2 is expected to explore simultaneous campaigns against the Federation and other hostile nations, placing Tanya under increasing strategic pressure despite her exceptional abilities.

In conclusion, with Tanya attempting to mold the Salamander Battalion into a capable fighting force, and the Empire facing enemies from every direction, Episode 2 could mark the true beginning of the season's central conflict.
