STEEL BALL RUN JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Episode 6 is finally here, and we have gotten one of the biggest reveals about Gyro Zeppeli. We now know about his past, his family tradition, and why he has actually decided to participate in the Steel Ball Run race. Turns out that this installment also had several Easter eggs, as we saw a familiar face from the early JoJo's series before it decided to end on a cliffhanger.
The story picked up right after Oyecomova, Johnny Joestar, and Gyro continued with the race; both of them are shown to be dealing with being critically injured yet refuse to back down. However, the focus soon shifted from the race to revealing major secrets of Gyro Zeppeli and his reason why he is so determined to win. One of the biggest highlights of STEEL BALL RUN JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Episode 6 is the exploration of Gyro's character.

This flashback revealed how he managed to learn the Spin technique and how his upbringing shaped his character through his family's long-standing traditions. Turns out that his family has a dual identity. One of them is to maintain their appearance so they act as medical professionals. But it is shown that they serve as executioners.
This family has in-depth knowledge of medicine and the human body. Gyro was raised to follow the tradition and learn the techniques which have been passed down through generations. STEEL BALL RUN JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Episode 6 also showed us the philosophy behind Spin. All of these revelations have given us more context about Gyro and his fighting style. At the same time, we got to understand why his steel balls are more than just a normal weapon.
Gyro's conflict over his duty and Marco's fate in STEEL BALL RUN JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Episode 6

Additionally, Gyro's backstory in STEEL BALL RUN JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Episode 6 also revealed why there is an emotional conflict behind his actions. While he was raised to respect and take over his family's responsibility, he started to question the justice system.
We see through a flashback sequence where Gyro is involved with a young boy, Marco. This kid has been punished, which shows us the harshness of the legal system, and Gyro had to either follow the orders or do what he felt was right. Gyro's father was someone who was hell-bent on preserving family traditions.
Although we see that Gyro had more compassion and wanted to challenge the idea of duty coming before individuals' lives. His past gave us a clear reason why he entered this race. Winning was never just about getting the prize money. By getting the first position, he hopes that maybe he could secure a royal pardon that could save Marco from his impending execution.
Stroheim returns in an unexpected confrontation and a chilling cliffhanger

Another major highlight was the return of Fritz von Stroheim, a familiar character from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Battle Tendency. Stroheim's encounter with Gyro was also important, as we were reminded of what kind of technological advancement happened in the 19th century.
The confrontation reinforced the effectiveness of Gyro's Spin technique while hinting that knowledge of the ability extends beyond the Zeppeli family. By the end of STEEL BALL RUN JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Episode 6, we get another surprise. After this battle, Johnny sees another mysterious phenomenon, and this time it looks like part of a strange corpse.
But we are not given any answers about it, as the anime has left this discovery unexplained to build anticipation. The cliffhanger hints that the Steel Ball Run may involve mysteries far beyond a simple horse race. It also sets up new questions about the significance of the corpse parts and their connection to the larger story.
