Arne Neuntöte, a vampire investigator known as "the worst" in the mysterious non-human city of Lügenberg, is the protagonist of the story. Then there is Lynn Reinweiss, a noblewoman's daughter who is enamored with vampires. Their worlds collide as Lynn wanders into Mühlenberg in severe need of help. This peculiar pair collaborates to look into brutal murder cases under the red moon.

Three protagonists are created in the anime with the introduction of Luis Hartman, an original character. This deviation from the game preserves the crucial elements of mystery while offering the plot a fresh viewpoint. Fans of The Case Book of Arne anime should expect a full-fledged gothic mystery with otherworldly turns at every turn.


The team behind The Case Book of Arne anime

Keisuke Inoue is directing the animation production of The Case Book of Arne anime, which is being handled by SILVER LINK. He is well-known for Ao-chan Can't Study! and My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom!. Together with Inoue, Murasaki, the creator of the original game's plot, co-wrote the anime. The chief animation director and character designer is Akiko Sato (character designer for Trigun Stampede and animation director for Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya: Vow in the Snow).

There is a lot of quality in the voice cast. Aimi Tanaka (Saiki Kusuo from The Disastrous Life of Saiki K.) portrays child Arne, while Koki Uchiyama (Meruem from Hunter x Hunter) voices adult Arne. Mariya Ise (Gojo Satoru from Jujutsu Kaisen) plays the original character, Luis Hartman, while Yuka Nukui (Ginny from Ishuzoku Reviewers) provides the voice of Lynn Reinweiss.

Yuki Sakakihara (Corpse God from Dead Mount Death Play) plays Zisye, Yuki Shin (Takemichi Hanagaki from Tokyo Revengers) plays Nachzehrer, and Yoko Hikasa (Rias Gremory from High School DxD) plays Amy in the supporting cast. With Hiroshi Naka (Monkey D. Garp from One Piece) as Gordon, the butler, and a number of others completing the household, the Reinweiss family's staff also receives their own limelight.

Yoshiaki Fujisawa is the composer. Singer Sou performs the opening theme, Q.E.D., and singer-songwriter Watashi Kobayashi provides the closing theme, Doll Town. The last song was composed by Takeaki Wada, the composer of the original game
