Tomb Raider King Episode 12 is finally here, and this week's installment ended the first season of the anime. While it was chaotic and had intense action, fans really liked the spotlight given to Irene. At the same time, it also set the foundation for the continuation of the story. Most of the finale was focused on Seo Joo-Heon as he gave his best effort to save Irene's parents.

Initially, it looked like a rescue mission, but everything turned into a battle that once again involved powerful relics, deception, and unexpected transformations, which left everyone speechless. Tomb Raider King Episode 12 starts with the main lead and his allies finally managing to gather everything that is needed to make the medicine that could finally cure Irene's parents.

But once again, Joo-Heon finds himself in a complicated situation as Irene believes that her parents might be kidnapped. She saw them being pulled into a painting, and that is when he revealed that the scene was a fake. Turns out that he had actually anticipated the possibility that enemies could have targeted her family. So, he actually had arranged for a substitute to be used.

This kind of deception actually gave the group some time in Tomb Raider King Episode 12 to focus fully on producing the medicines. Finally, once Irene’s parents receive the mysterious fruit created from the collected relic materials, their condition begins improving rapidly.

The biggest highlight of Tomb Raider King Episode 12 is undoubtedly Irene’s transformation into a formidable fighter. After spending much of the season learning about the world of relics, Irene suddenly starts to show us an impressive range of abilities during her confrontation with Keira.

In this battle, we see how Irene is able to take on attacks that look fatal but manages to also counterattack her opponent rather swiftly. Even the animation gives Irene plenty of room to shine, making the confrontation one of the season’s most visually impressive sequences.

Those who have watched the episode might also be able to point out that Irene’s suddenly being good at fighting felt a little abrupt. It was really nice of her character to get a power-up, but the episode really did not give us a proper explanation of how she became so proficient with her abilities. This leaves some of her development feeling rushed.

Joo-heon’s ambition grows even bigger

The finale also reinforces Joo-heon’s larger goal. After everything that happens, he openly embraces his ambition to become the person who collects every relic in the world. His conversation with Keira makes it clear that he is no longer simply reacting to threats around him.

In Tomb Raider King Episode 12, we see that from now on he intends to actively pursue the relics scattered across the globe, regardless of what stands in his way. This fits perfectly with Joo-heon’s personality, as he is calculating, prepared, and willing to deceive both enemies and allies when necessary.

Final thoughts

In conclusion, Tomb Raider King Episode 12 was a strong addition to the season, but there is a minor criticism about the pacing. There are several developments, particularly Irene’s sudden combat growth and the confrontation with Keira, that could have worked better if the series focused on giving us a little more buildup. Still, the episode succeeds as an action-packed conclusion and leaves plenty of material for a potential second season.
