Sheila Carter, played by Kimberlin Brown, surprised all B&B fans by signing off the divorce papers even when she did not get the other side of the deal. Expressing her vulnerabilities over the rejection she received from her husband, she behaved with such unexpected grace that the longtime viewers were left with uncomfortable feelings. For years, Sheila has been one of the most violent and crazy villains that the Bold and the Beautiful fans have seen. Her vicious history has a list of crimes, including shooting, kidnapping, and stalking.

As such, when Deacon Sharpe fell for Taylor Hayes, most viewers expected another round of hostility and carnage. However, Sheila changed her image into a victim while graciously granting her husband freedom. This may not sit well with all those who have known her, including Steffy and her fans.

5 cues that Sheila has changed for the better on B&B’s storyline

1) Choosing calm over carnage

As longtime B&B fans know, Sheila Carter had a crazy streak in her character that made her unpredictable. Her initial years on the soap were fraught with savagery and bloodshed. Having attempted murder, indulged in stalking and kidnapping, and being a master of disguise and treachery, Sheila remained the most feared villain in LA.

However, in a recent twist, Sheila proved that her claims to have become a better person might be true. While viewers waited with bated breath for her to react with hostility after catching her husband cheating, she pleaded with love and respect. Sheila admitted to heartbreak, but stated that she wouldn’t act in any manner that she would regret. So far, she has kept her word by handling her grief with grace.

2) Signing divorce papers peacefully

Recent episodes of B&B found Sheila returning to catch Deacon Sharpe (Sean Kanan) and Taylor Hayes (Rebecca Budig) together. As they discussed divorce, Sheila offered to grant Deacon a divorce in return for Taylor convincing Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) to accept Sheila in her family.

On one hand, Taylor tried to talk to Steffy unsuccessfully, while on the other, Sheila signed the divorce papers without much ado. She claimed that she did not want to burden Deacon with her presence since he didn’t love her anymore. She hugged her former husband with love and regret.

3) Stepping up to save lives

Unlike the brutal Sheila of the past, Sheila Carter-Sharpe had changed much since her marriage to Deacon. She claimed that Deacon’s love transformed her into a better person. As such, the same Sheila, who had pulled the gun on Steffy and shot her own son, Finn Finnegan (Tanner Novlan) instead, was seen risking her life in trying to save Steffy from her crazy granddaughter, Luna (Lisa Yamada).

A few years ago, she also saved Steffy’s daughter, Kelly Spencer (Sophia Parras McKinley), despite stalking Finn and his family at the time. She was also seen recently chastising Luna for targeting Steffy. She cut away from Luna during the latter’s pregnancy fiasco to save her own marriage.

4) Seeking supervised access

As B&B fans may have noticed, Sheila asked Taylor to convince Steffy so that the latter can give her permission to be with Finn and his son, Hayes (Bryan David Garlick). The Sheila of the old might have tried to kidnap Hayes as she had attempted before. However, the transformed Sheila asked to be given consent to visit her own grandson.

Moreover, she offered to talk to Steffy to try to convince her if Taylor failed. Additionally, she might also agree to meet Hayes in the presence of the latter’s parents. However, she did not force or trick her way into Steffy’s household.

5) Exhibiting gratitude, grace, and accountability

Instead of raving and ranting as a furious jilted woman might, Sheila displayed amazing grace when she encountered her husband’s altered romantic interest. She recognized that his love for her changed her into a better person, and she expressed gratitude. She refused to go back to her former ways even when Deacon left her.

The past few months on B&B have seen Sheila taking control of her emotions and moving away from terrorizing people to more peaceful interactions. As mentioned before, she tried talking Luna out of violence and actively trusted Taylor as a benefactor. She also accepted accountability for keeping secrets in her marriage, pushing it to its brink.

5 hints that B&B's Sheila may still be planning a retribution

1) The restraint during the “pizza-cutter” episode

As discussed before, Sheila has shown immense self-control when handling the heartbreak about her husband falling for the woman Sheila trusted. However, within this period, Sheila has exhibited some chilling moments when she gave a glimpse of the Sheila of the past.

One such event was when she spied on Taylor and seemed to threaten her with a pizza-cutter. While fans expected her to attack her rival, Sheila used the kitchen blade to mentally terrorize Taylor. Although she showed restraint in refusing to use the weapon physically, she resorted to a psychological tactic to break her opponent.

2) The ultimate veiled threat

As B&B viewers have witnessed, after Sheila learnt about her husband’s betrayal, she confronted both Taylor and Deacon. As mentioned before, she sent veiled threats to Taylor by wielding the pizza-cutter only to scare the offender. When having her long conversation with her husband, Sheila cryptically asked him whether this was a wise move on his part.

Later, when leaving Deacon’s house, in the episode of April 9, 2026, Sheila promised to herself that it wasn’t over and she would be back. Viewers also noticed her smile when she looked at Deacon and Taylor kissing. While the romantic couple failed to see her outside their window, the B&B fans know Sheila might be cooking something.

3) Negotiating rejections with relationships

As already mentioned, B&B fans expected Sheila to react to Deacon’s betrayal with violence. However, she surprised everyone by behaving well. She seemed to admit to having contributed to ruining her marriage and regretting her actions. Moreover, she also claimed to have curbed her evil ways, which Deacon credited her for doing.

However, when Deacon asked for a divorce, Sheila came up with a negotiation. She tried making a deal with Taylor where she offered to sign the divorce papers if Taylor managed to make an inroad into Finn and Hayes’s lives. She tried to leverage the freedom with her acceptance into her son’s family. Whether she has more negotiations in store as part of her retribution remains to be seen.

4) Targeting reputation by playing victim

As B&B fans have realized, Sheila responded with calm and grace to Deacon and Taylor’s betrayal. Moreover, she proved Steffy, Ridge, and all others, who believed her to be crazy, wrong. On the contrary, she managed to portray herself as the real victim of the situation, effectively painting Deacon and Taylor as the backstabbing villains.

Her stance may also earn her Finn’s sympathy and respect. While this may affect Taylor’s public image, whether it may impact the reputation of the psychiatrist remains to be seen.

5) Planning an indirect approach

As B&B viewers have witnessed, Sheila signed the divorce papers without making too many demands. However, after portraying herself as the calm and harmless victim, she may try to reach out to Finn. While the latter is committed to Steffy, his wife, and the safety of his children, finding his mother an innocent victim may influence how he perceives danger from Sheila.

If Sheila can win over her son, she may take the next step to reach out to her grandson. Moreover, she may look for opportunities to plant herself conveniently in the vicinity of Finn’s family and offer favors to win Steffy over. On the other hand, whether she plans to share Deacon’s business or acquire it as alimony is unknown.
