Hope Logan, played by Annika Noelle, is poised at a turning point in her B&B story arc as she finally makes the life-changing decision to walk away from Forrester Creations. While she has signed on to join her aunt Katie Logan's company, she is planning to keep this information a secret. As such, she informed her mother that she is taking a long leave of absence from FC.
However, besides Katie, some other people aware of this new twist include her aunt Donna, members of the Spencer family, and her half-brother, Deke Sharpe. While oblivious for now, Brooke will eventually learn about Hope's defection from her company to its rival. How Brooke reacts may ultimately determine whether the Logan women can find their way back to each other, or if this decision creates a rift that proves impossible to repair.
5 motives behind Hope’s move on B&B that Brooke must appreciate
1) Escape from Steffy’s shadow

As Hope Logan has hinted, Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) often allows her dislike for her Logan rival to influence her business decisions. As co-CEO, Steffy makes the final decisions about allocating company funds and has pulled the plug on Hope's fashion line many times. She also forced Hope to work with Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) while firing the newly appointed designer and Hope's half-brother, Deke Sharpe (Harrison Cone).
As Hope's mother, Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang) must appreciate that her daughter will be free of Steffy's corporate decisions. Knowing that Steffy and Hope dislike each other, Brooke should feel happy that her daughter no longer has to work under a rival. After years of watching the two women clash both personally and professionally, Brooke may ultimately see Hope's move to Logan as an opportunity for her daughter to finally thrive on her own terms.
2) Reclaiming self-respect

In an extension of the previous point, Hope has been tormented by Steffy's entitled attitude at Forrester Creations, as longtime B&B fans know. Hope's self-respect has been under threat due to her sidelined role in the company, Steffy's rivalry with her, and her own thoughtless actions. That includes staging a coup with Carter and later being forgiven over Liam's health concerns. However, it does not take FC management a moment to shelve her line without any discussion with her.
Once away from FC, Hope can regain her self-esteem and her confidence. Moreover, she will be free of the constant cycle of being handed opportunities only to have them taken away, while her mother fights for her before eventually backing down. Evidently, Brooke will acknowledge this positive break.
3) Embracing independence and creative control

Some years back on B&B, Hope’s line, Hope for the Future, ran successfully and earned her much accolades, albeit from people other than Steffy. However, as the co-CEO pointed out, the line has not been doing well lately. As such, Steffy wants to pull the plug but has shelved it for the time being.
Unfortunately, Hope has no say in any of these matters. She has to be totally dependent on the FC management to make, or mar, decisions for her. Meanwhile, she does not have much creative control over her line and her lead designers. As recent storyline revealed, Steffy re-appointed Thomas as Hope’s lead designer, despite Hope being uncomfortable around her former beau. Moreover, Steffy forced Hope to fire Deke. At Logan, Hope may have the freedom and control over her work and collection.
4) Revitalizing identity

Since long, B&B viewers have seen Hope being blamed for playing the victim and never standing up for herself. Moreover, many times she has implored Brooke to fight for her cause where the mother fails her. However, her current move shows that Hope may stand up for herself. Also, she can set an example for her daughter, Beth Spencer (Jordyn Lynn Ariza), that Logan women can fight their own battles.
On Brooke’s side, she has played a complacent mother as her romance with Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) takes front seat. However, if she supports Hope, she can boost her own image. She can come out as a woman with independent opinions, her own voice and a fierce protector of her children’s interests.
5) Full potential of Logan women

If Brooke honestly puts some thought into it, she will realize that for decades, the Logan women have been playing second fiddle to the Forresters. Her own contribution at this tipped balance has been a lot. On one hand, Brooke and Donna (Jennifer Gareis) married Forrester men. While Katie Logan (Heather Tom) married Bill Spencer (Don Diamont), she was involved with Forrester Creations, as was Hope. However, the Forrester family did not give much respect to the Logans.
Despite believing Katie stole Eric’s (John McCook) designs, Brooke may realize that with Katie’s company, the Logans will have a separate identity. If Hope joins Katie and the company flourishes, it is Brooke’s family name that gets traction. As such, B&B fans hope she would support Hope’s decision.
5 justifications for Brooke’s stern attitude towards Hope on B&B
1) Choosing Spencer over Forrester

As longtime B&B viewers may remember, the tussle for power between the Forrester family and the Spencer family has been going on for decades. In the past, Bill Spencer moved to take over the company, and Steffy had to trick him to hand it back. As such, Katie’s company, funded by Bill’s money, challenging FC is again a Forrester versus Spencer war. In this battle, Brooke expected Hope to side with the Forresters since she works at FC.
As such, Brooke is going to be disappointed to find her own daughter on the other side of the battlefield, particularly colluding with “Dollar Bill”. Moreover, Brooke has been very bitter about Katie using the “Logan” name for her company. With Brooke judging Katie’s actions as betrayal, Hope’s defection will likely add to her injury.
2) Undermining mother’s advice

Since the launch of Katie’s company, Brooke has been suffering because of the company name followed by Eric offering his designs to FC’s rivals. Brooke had discussed her woes with Hope through it all. As such, she had taken Hope’s loyalty towards FC for granted. Later, when Hope’s line was shelved and she complained, Brooke tried to placate her. Even when she failed to grab the co-CEO’s position, she tried to talk it down with Hope, hoping to calm the latter.
However, Hope’s desertion of FC to join Logan, will annoy Brooke doubly. On one hand, Brooke considers Katie a backstabber, and her daughter siding with her enemy is bad enough. To add injury to insult, Brooke asked Hope to have patience till the time Steffy and Ridge decide to put HFTF back on. However, in a clear defiance to Brooke’s advice, her daughter walked out on the company. This is likely to keep the mother fuming.
3) Fractured Logan family

As B&B viewers saw, in a recent turn of events, the Logan sisters have been pitted against each other. As Bill gifted Katie with a brand-new fashion house as his wedding gift, the latter named the company on her maiden family name. However, Brooke claimed possession of the name “Logan” in the fashion world, driving the Spencer couple to hastily register their company as “Logan”.
To add to the chaotic situation, Eric offered his designs to Katie and Bill before backtracking and repenting. Unfortunately, the Spencer couple used Eric’s designs for their launch collection. Before Brooke can come out of this ordeal, if she learns that Hope joined Katie, the rift between the two sisters will likely widen. As Brooke may believe that Katie poached Hope, Logan family will be permanently divided.
4) The Ridge and Steffy factors

As expected, Hope’s defection will put a marital strain on Brooke’s relationship with Ridge. An already livid Ridge will find the Logan group building fast and Brooke’s sister and daughter playing significant roles in this. As such, Brooke may find herself at relationship crossroads on the B&B storyline.
On the other hand, Steffy has always been dismissive about the Logan members, believing them to lack credibility. In response, Brooke, who helped build FC has spent years defending Hope. However, Hope’s latest move will weaponize Steffy’s claim about “untrustworthy Logans”. Steffy will feel validated to demonize the Logan women. Besides Hope proving Steffy’s claims right, the situation also sets Brooke in an awkward position to have to prove her loyalty anew.
5) Destabilizing Brooke’s position

In an extension of the previous point, Brooke has been part of FC from its early days. Despite facing Stephanie’s (Susan Flannery) wrath, Brooke continued as a vital member of the fashion house. Time and again, she contributed to the company’s standing, its reputation and profitability. As such, she considers herself a part of FC legacy. By that logic, she wanted Hope to be part of her legacy just as Steffy inherits the Forrester part of the legacy.
However, Hope jumped ships on B&B will leave Brooke’s fight for foothold in jeopardy. Moreover, Brooke may need to choose between FC and Hope, leaving her in a painful situation. Also, her years of loyalty and hard work may come unraveled by a minor decision. Brooke may never forgive Hope for putting her through this trial.
