After weeks of apprehension, The Bold and the Beautiful’s Sheila Carter faced Taylor Hayes with transparent questions. The naughty nurse cornered the psychiatrist into confessing that she had an affair with Deacon. Sheila called her unethical and promised to stop this alliance. On the other hand, she forced her husband to come clean and expressed a heartbreaking emotion at his betrayal.
While initially worried about her violent reaction, Taylor was relieved when Sheila announced that she was not as crazy as Taylor had painted her to Deacon. Whether she deserved this betrayal from Deacon and Taylor is a debate for the soap’s viewers.
5 cues that Sheila is a victim on The Bold and the Beautiful
1) Betrayed by beloved husband, Deacon

As The Bold and the Beautiful fans know, Sheila (Kimberlin Brown) transformed herself for love. After she and Deacon (Sean Kanan) fell in love, she decided to change for the better. She gave up her evil ways and tamed her fiery persona into an ideal wife status. She tried to convince her stepchildren of the same.
However, even after taking efforts to fit herself into Deacon’s life, the latter abandoned her for his newfound romance with Taylor. Moreover, Deacon fooled her into thinking that he was going to therapy sessions, and she blindly believed him and Taylor. As such, she was victimized by her true love.
2) Repeatedly rejected by Finn

Since revealing her biological connection with Finn (Tanner Novlan), Sheila has been trying to reconnect with her son and daughter-in-law for years. While initially their relationship had a bumpy start, thanks to Sheila’s violent ways ending in Finn taking a bullet from his mother, meant for his wife, she apologized. She even did Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) a good turn by trying to save her from Luna (Lisa Yamada) and getting shot in the process.
However, both Finn and Steffy continue to ghost her. Finn refused to have any connection with her, even when she visited him at the hospital and expressed her desire to reconnect. Steffy has explicitly declared that she does not trust her mother-in-law. As such, she has been refuted by her closely-linked relatives.
3) Wrongly blamed for two murders

The Bold and the Beautiful viewers may remember that Sheila was blamed for the murders of Tom (Clint Howard) and Hollis (Hollis W. Chambers) for a long time. While it was later revealed that Luna (Lisa Yamada) had murdered the two victims, after she wrongly framed her mother, Poppy (Romy Park), for the murders. However, before any evidence was collected, the town preferred to believe that Sheila killed the two people.
Despite being innocent, Sheila fought the accusatory glares from people visiting Il Giardino. In this accusation, the influential Forrester family had a big role to play, who jumped to the conclusion that Sheila was to blame for any crime in town, and played it up for the police.
4) Held hostage by Sugar

Longtime fans of The Bold and the Beautiful may remember that Sugar (Robin Mattson) was Sheila’s accomplice who pretended to be Sheila for a long time. Moreover, she tried to attack and kill Steffy. Sugar took over Sheila’s life and kidnapped her. Sugar held Sheila hostage in an abandoned building, left to die.
After Sugar’s death, believing Sheila dead, the town rejoiced. Viewers saw Eric Forrester (John McCook) toasting to Sheila’s death. If not for Deacon’s investigation, Sheila would have died in the building, while Sugar would have been cremated as Sheila.
5) Abused and unloved since childhood

Sheila’s back story reveals childhood abuse from her father, the events that shaped her criminal mentality as she grew up. To end his cycle of abuse, Sheila poisoned her father. She then proceeded to abuse her mother, who failed to protect her.
From her past in Genoa City to her life in LA, Sheila claimed to be starved for love and the security of a family. That explained her fixation with Finn and his family, Steffy and Hayes. Moreover, she tried to achieve and hold on to a stable, loving family with Deacon. This makes Deacon and Finn’s stances heartless.
The Bold and the Beautiful: 5 ways Deacon and Taylor’s bond deepened
1) Crisis led to a turn of emotions

Both Taylor and Deacon were going through an emotionally upsetting phase of their lives when they met. Fans may remember that despite a long engagement, Ridge walked out on Taylor to marry Brooke once again. On the other hand, Deacon discovered that his wife was keeping secrets about the dangerous Luna. Moreover, she let Luna rape Will in his premises, and Sheila hid the facts from him.
Furious over his wife’s lies, Deacon sought refuge in Taylor’s friendship, a connection with a normal woman. At the same time, a heartbroken Taylor found solace in Deacon’s admiration and respect. It was their personal crises that led the two to each other.
2) Risk-taking for emotional rebellion

In a continuation of the previous argument, both Taylor and Deacon felt betrayed in their previous relationships. While Ridge followed the old pattern again by choosing Brooke, Deacon felt insulted when Sheila kept secrets from him that others knew.
As a form of rebellion from their pasts, the two scorned lovers hooked up away from the expectations of their family and friends.
3) Prolonged and secret “therapy” sessions

Deacon and Taylor’s relationship started after Deacon sought counselling sessions from the psychiatrist. Finding it relaxing to stay away from Sheila, Deacon implored Taylor to continue with the sessions. Their therapy sessions soon became long and moved into late nights as they enjoyed opening up to each other.
Despite warnings from Steffy and her fear of Sheila learning about their affair, the therapist and her patient continued their secret affair. Deacon pretended that Taylor was too busy the whole day and counselled him in nighttime sessions.
4) Irresistible and forbidden kisses and trysts

After weeks of dilemma, Taylor and Deacon sealed their love for each other by stealing a kiss in February 2026. With that, they moved their counsellor-patient relationship to illicit lovers. Despite fears and warnings, they declared love for each other.
Moreover, the two became physically close at her clinic and spent passionate time together at the Cliff House. Taylor and Deacon decided to beat all odds to continue their romance even at the cost of Sheila’s wrath.
5) Chemistry based on outsider status

As longtime fans know, both Taylor and Deacon have been facing the outsider status for decades. While Taylor has been married to Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) and is the mother of Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) and Thomas (Matthew Atkinson), she was never involved in the family’s business. As such, she was considered more outsider than the Logans. On the other hand, Deacon (Sean Kanan) fought to be included in the upscale business society of LA.
This exclusion by the people they loved created a relatable bond between Taylor and Deacon. As such, when Ridge rejected Taylor and Deacon discovered Sheila keeping secrets, the two exchanged their disappointments. This was the basis of their romantic chemistry.
