So, um, that happened. And it looks like something else is about to happen on The Bold and the Beautiful, so hang on for a wild ride once Monaco is in the rearview mirror for all. Well, at least it was pretty, right?
A Little Turbulance

We're not sure what Sheila was thinking when she bought a first-class ticket to Monaco right next to the only child she remembers she had, but we're sure we're glad she did. If she hadn't, we would have had that other first-class experience late in the week.
Of course Mother brought snacks and reading material to pass the time in her big bag of everything. Isn't that what mothers are for? Too bad Steffy has to always be such a stick in the mud because this really could have been a lovely mother-son bonding trip, but we digress.
Back at the hotel, all Steffy could do was gush about her planned meeting with Finn in which they would re-create a once-in-a-lifetime moment in which Finn defied death. Over and over again. She was there to "save" Forrester Creations, but not really. She was there to add to her Instagram stories with a picture-perfect scene that only Steffy could stage.
Fell. Flat.

And that Instagram story adventure Steffy needed so badly. Well, it didn't work. Because Steffy wasn't discovering that her beloved husband had never perished at the hands of his unhinged birth mother. No, they had just seen each other the day before and Steffy had given Finn strict instructions for how to play his part. As she always does.
When he ran down the stone steps by the church and called out her name and she spotted him and called out, "Finn?" in surprise, we wanted to throw something at the screen. What even was this? They had just been getting their kids ready for camp the day before. This wasn't an epic reunion because there was no reason to reunite, but don't tell Steffy that. Her life was finally perfect...until it was not.
Dipping Her Toes in the Water

We really do believe that Sheila had no intention of ruining Finn's trip once he made it perfectly clear that Sheila had to hop the next flight back to Los Angeles, but what's a little toe dip in the water between flights, especially when there's a delay. We would have done the same, so live it up Sheila and create your own Instagram story to rival Steffy's.
She seemed genuinely horrified when she spotted Steffy and Finn or she wouldn't have dipped under that towel after dipping her toes in the ocean. And then Steffy proved that her life is nothing but a photoshoot. Because who could share such an "epic" moment with their husband, planned to the last detail, and then toss her wedding ring in the sand not 10 minutes later?
And while we do get that Steffy shot Finn and Steffy and left them for dead, Steffy also shot at Sheila a few years prior and missed. But the sentiment was there. And Sheila took a bullet for Steffy last year and lost another toe. And as Finn said, Steffy's mother was off in L.A. doing who knows what with Sheila's husband. So, about that...
Feeling Stupid, Deacon?

That's right. In Steffy's living room, as Steffy staged her social media moment, Sheila's mother was turning down a marriage proposal from the man Sheila had been married to a few months prior. And the reason they are no longer married? Steffy's mother just couldn't control herself and refused to tell a married man nope. And a married man who was her patient, no less.
When Taylor turned down Deacon's proposal, he asked her why he divorced Sheila if Taylor didn't want to marry him. Well, so Taylor wouldn't have to date a married man? Did someone never tell Taylor, a woman who had been cheated on how many times, that's not how it works? A married man doesn't divorce his wife so you don't have to date a married man. You just don't date a married man. Period. Is that so hard?
And Deacon? He's just so confused and wondering if he made a massive, massive mistake. (Pro tip, Deacon, it's always a mistake to cheat on your unsuspecting wife.) Maybe Deacon can take that life lesson and teach it to a few others in the coming weeks...
Back to the Beach

Something momentous happened on that beach. Finn stood up to Steffy for a whole 30 seconds. And what did it get him? Rings in the sand after a conniption fit that really didn't make sense. Steffy panics and is in fight or flight every time she sees Sheila? The woman whom she even laughed with for a few minutes last year after Sheila lost another toe? The woman she slaps and shoves and rolls her eyes and sneers at? Yes, such panic. And what was Sheila going to do to Steffy on that beach? The last time Finn and Sheila were on a beach together, Sheila saved Kelly's life. Did Steffy forget about that?
We are not sure what happened to Sheila after Finn ran off to shout "Steffy" ad nauseum while in tears, but we hope she plopped herself right back down on that chaise lounge and made friends with that lovely young server.
About Brooke and Ridge...

We are not sure what their Monaco purpose was, as they had one location scene in which they lost their minds over Forrester turning down a perfume designer who later went to Logan. (How is it stealing if Forrester turned the woman down? Make these two make sense.)
Back in the hotel, which we assume was a set in Los Angeles, their purpose was to tsk-tsk Finn for being such a bad boy that he brought Sheila with him to Monaco. But we loved Brooke's pink fringe dress, so there was that.
The Long Flight Home to Eric's Office

Did Steffy take Sheila's delayed flight back to Los Angeles because she sure got on that plane quick? We're not even sure how Steffy handled a regular flight and not a private one. Nobody ever told her the seats are cramped and they give you little bottles of booze to enjoy. And she certainly enjoyed. And drowned her sorrows. Because life just wasn't fair.
Nor was it fair for Carter back in Eric's office. While Steffy double-fisted the champagne, Carter did a double-take when Daphne announced their marriage was over because she had fertility problems and she was returning to France. Wait, what? Yes, that was Carter's reaction, too, so...
So, Steffy hopped that first Uber back to her Granddad's office, cause why go home to where your mother is sleeping with your birth mother-in-law's ex-husband? Carter only left the office to get another bottle. And it's dark. And they're drunk. And this is The Bold and the Beautiful, after all....
