A Mess of Their Own (Forrester) Creations: The Bold and the Beautiful Two Scoops For the Week of January 12

The week on The Bold and the Beautiful, Brooke and Ridge continued to show a complete lack of self-awareness or capacity for empathy. In fact, nearly everyone at Forrester Creations appeared to exist in a world of delusion. Beyond that, a former preschool art teacher has somehow found a way to infiltrate a fashion company. Nothing makes sense, except for Eric coming out of retirement to make his son look like a fool for forcing him out of the company. Los Angeles as one again proved that nearly every Forrester mess is a product of their own creation.

Narcissism runs rampant on The Bold and the Beautiful

Brooke and Ridge have reached peak levels of narcissism, and it's making the characters somehow more unlikable, if that was even possible. The crass way that they speak of Katie and her new fashion house is a twisted blend of cruelty and condescension. While it's somewhat understandable that Brooke might be offended by Katie's choice of name for her company, the way she allows Ridge to belittle her little sister is appalling. Katie has looked the other way for far worse things that Brooke has done in the past, but Brooke is unwilling to extend the same courtesy.

Brooke may think that Katie took things to a personal level by moving forward with the Logan name, but she's the one who escalated this. She could have supported Katie like a decent big sister, but instead, she made it about herself, and told Katie to her face that she was likely to fail. Katie wasn't wrong for bringing up the past. She was merely pointing out historic examples of how she forgave Brooke's bad behavior for the sake of family unity, but Brooke doesn't see any of that.

Katie has Eric secured as her lead designer, and instead of bathing in that excitement, they have to tiptoe around Brooke and Ridge's feelings. This should be the biggest moment of Katie's professional carer, but because Brooke and Ridge have overly inflated egos, they've become the primary focus. It's absurd, and the best possible outcome here would be Logan coming out of the gate with a breathtaking collection that outsells Forrester, placing Katie and Eric at the top of the fashion food chain.

Dylan has done a phenomenal job at cozying up close into the inner workings of Will and Electra's lives. On the surface, she hasn't done anything wrong yet, but something doesn't feel right. There's something about the way she appeared out of nowhere after months off the canvas and perfectly inserted herself in everyone's lives. Dylan confessed to running down Luna, killing her, and by doing this, she scored brownie points for life with Steffy and Electra. Now, she's reaping the benefits of her vehicular execution and rapidly heading toward the life of her dreams.

Electra may have already warned Dylan about respecting her relationship with Will, but she keeps tipping the odds out of her favor. On the surface it makes sense for Electra to pitch a job for Dylan at Forrester. Having Dylan at the office would be an easier way to keep an eye on her at all times. However, with R.J. back in the mix, and Electra already infatuated, her attention may slip, and now she's done nothing more than place Dylan further in Will's orbit.

Dylan and Will seem destined for intimacy, and Electra is doing absolutely nothing to prevent this from happening. Instead, she is smitten with R.J., and there's a million reasons why that is gross and inappropriate. Has anyone even confirmed that Dylan really killed Luna? Everyone in Los Angeles is taking the word of someone who went missing from their lives for months and sent anonymous texts taking credit for Luna's demise. Something is not right with that girl, and it looks like they're all going to learn the hard way.
