B&B Recap August 18: The Morning After For Steffy and Carter

On the Tuesday, August 18, 2026, episode of The Bold and the Beautiful, Steffy woke up on Eric's office couch naked and so did Carter. Uh-oh.

On the plane, Finn flashed back to Steffy's meltdown on the beach after she spotted Sheila. He swore he would find Steffy and save his marriage...before it's too late. "I need to get to you, Steffy. I need you to know that you can always count on me," he said to himself.

As Steffy lay on Eric's office couch with a blanket over her naked body, a member of the FC cleaning crew (who we will call Michael) knocked on the door, which seemed to be locked. Michael walked away in frustration, wondering if anyone was really in there.

What Have We Done?

In the office, Steffy stirred and groggily woke. As she stretched her naked legs, she noticed a naked Carter on the other side of the couch. She kicked Carter awake while freaking out and repeating, "We shouldn't have done this." She frantically grabbed her clothing and made sure the door was locked.

Carter did not seem to be in nearly as much of a panic as Steffy was. When Steffy saw how many messages Finn had left her, she lost it even harder. Carter apologized, but Steffy at least acknowledged that what had happened was both of their faults.

Carter wanted to talk about what happened and how wrong it was, but Steffy didn't want to bother. Instead, she just ran out to see her kids, just as Finn got off the plane. When Steffy was gone, Carter surveyed the mess in Eric's office and tried to hide all evidence of their shenanigans the night before, including all the booze.

Of course, that's when Daphne walked in to tell Carter that she had changed her mind. She was ready to board a plane to Paris but realized she couldn't leave Carter and her marriage behind. "I'm never going to run away like that again. I was wrong. I messed up. I'm so sorry. Say you understand. I made a terrible, terrible mistake," she said, falling into a bewildered Carter's arms.

Taylor Still Won't Marry Deacon

At Steffy's house, Deacon and Taylor enjoyed their morning, thinking Steffy wouldn't be returning for days. Deacon was highly impressed with how Taylor handled getting the kids ready for camp. When they sat down to eat a breakfast burrito, Taylor brought up his proposal from the night before.

"I'm sure it was a disappointment when I turned you down and I'm so grateful you understand why I did," she said. Deacon claimed the most important thing to him was her happiness. He didn't need some silly piece of paper.

Deacon changed the subject to the Monaco trip. Taylor thought it had to be going perfectly. I really hope Steffy and Finn are having the time of their lives," she said.

Before Deacon left for work, he brought up Sheila and noted that she might have finally gotten the message that she can't be in Finn and Steffy's lives. His evidence was Sheila not popping in to try to see the kids while Steffy and Finn were away.

Later, when Deacon was gone, Taylor sat down to do some work, but was shocked when an extremely disheveled Steffy stumbled in. Taylor was confused as Steffy told her there was a change of plans and she needed to take a shower. Taylor paced the living room until Steffy emerged. She knew something was wrong.

Taylor worried that Finn never made it to the church, but Steffy said he did and it was magical just as she had planned. "Then we went for a walk on the beach...Until I saw Sheila," Steffy said. "She was there. She was there at the beach and Finn knew."

Steffy explained everything that had happened with Sheila, how it was a dream come true for her, thinking she could vacation with her son. "He knew she was out there just lurking and he didn't say anything," Steffy said, as she rambled on and on about how horrible Finn was.

She left out the part about getting drunk and having sex with Carter, which was a good thing because Finn came bursting in, relieved to see his wife. Taylor left so that Finn and Steffy could talk. Steffy couldn't even look at Finn as he apologized for what had happened in Monaco.
