The Bold and the Beautiful: B&B Recap August 27: Katie Demands to Meet Dylan’s Mom, Dylan Obliges

Brooke's Pain

Brooke and Ridge shared a bit of romance in Eric's office. Ridge shared that RJ came up with a new idea to stick it to Logan Designs. Brooke noted RJ's idea would be sticking it to her sister and her daughter.

Ridge told Brooke that their son has an idea to replace Hope For The Future with a new youth line. Brooke said that a new youth line sounded promising. Ridge asked if it would hurt her feelings. Brooke said it would because her sister and her daughter betrayed her.

Brooke shared that she would have felt better about Hope's defection if she had come to her and told her. Brooke felt that Hope lied to her and colluded with Katie. She didn't know about it until she saw her on the runway with Katie. Brooke added that she'd never felt so betrayed in life.

Brooke said the Hope that she had raised would never stab her in the back the way Hope has. She added that she missed her daughter.

Hope dropped by to see Deacon at Bikini. She asked how they were doing, but seemed less than convinced when Deacon said they were doing great.

Deacon shared that he proposed, but she turned him down. Deacon also revealed that Taylor said if they were 20 years younger, it'd be different. Hope commented on the fact that her mother is not happy about her success at Logan.

Hope told Deacon that she wished things had gone differently with Brooke and Forrester Creations, but business was business. She wished that Brooke could have been happy for her the way Dylan was.

Deacon and Hope took a table at Bikini. Hope wondered if Brooke would always be bitter. Deacon said that Brooke would be proud of Hope one day -- just as Deacon is today. Deacon was also happy that Deke was doing well. Hope didn't feel confident despite her dad's positive words.

Deacon offered to speak to Brooke to advocate on Hope's behalf. Hope advised against that, saying Brooke wasn't ready. She added that she's really proud of the work she'd done, but she wished Brooke were proud of her, too.

Fatherly Advice, Take Two

Will met his father, Bill, at Spencer Publications. Bill was glad that Will was playing the field. Will said his mom was not happy. Will told his father that Katie stopped by his place and saw the woman he'd been with the night before. Bill asked who spent the night? Will said it was Dylan, who was Electra's former best friend. "The plot thickens, and it's a messy one," Bill mused. Will said his mom caught them (but not in the act).

Bill chuckled over the look Katie must have given Will when she saw that Will had made breakfast for two. Bill said the good news was that he had a mom who loved him. He asked his son how much he knew about Dylan.

Will shared that Dylan read issues of Eye on Fashion and dreamed about the world revealed in those magazines. Plus, Dylan's also a fan of the Spencer family. Bill advised Will to have fun if he wanted, but that they needed to learn more about Dylan if she was fan-girling through magazines to learn about the Spencers.

How We Met Dylan's Mother

At the beach house, Katie wrapped up a work call. Dylan came back into the room. Katie said that she had questions for Dylan, and she wanted some answers.

Dylan informed Katie as to who she was: an artist, a dancer, and a woman who was very much in love with Will. She also noted that they came from different worlds. Katie's body language indicated that she was not a fan of Dylan's!

Dylan swore she had no idea what Remy had done with Electra. Katie was cynical as to how Dylan just happened into her son's life and became friends with Electra. Dylan said that she and Remy didn't grow up in the same town, and she wasn't in his circle of friends.

Katie pointed out that Dylan had run Luna over with her car, which led to her moving into Will's beach house. Katie was surprised that Dylan was still working at Forrester Creations, given that Electra works there. Dylan said that she needed that job to pay her bills. Katie mused that she does need that job until, of course, she finds some unsuspecting rich guy to pay her bills. "Excuse me?" Dylan said, taking offense that that's what Katie thought Dylan was doing with Will.

Katie said that despite Dylan saying she was an artist and a dancer, she didn't really know anything about her. Dylan offered to tell Katie anything that she wanted to know.

Dylan said that she was from the Midwest and had a simple life. "Well, you paint a pretty picture," Katie said, adding that Dylan also read Eye on Fashion and dreamed of the Spencers. Now, she's a part of that world. Dylan wasn't sure how to respond.

Katie advised Dylan to bring her mother to Los Angeles so she could meet her. Katie said that she was trying to keep an open mind, but pointed out that her son loved another woman. Katie said Will's heart does not lie with Dylan. "Oh, look," Katie said as she walked out the door and pointed to a photo of Will and Electra in happier times, "There she is. That's the girl my son really loves."

Dylan called her mom, and she picked up the phone. Dylan invited her mom to visit her in Los Angeles. Dylan's mom was surprised. Dylan's mom asked her daughter, "Melissa Nicole Dylan, are you pregnant?"

Dylan assured her mom that she wasn't. Dylan's mom said that she'd make arrangements to come out to Los Angeles as soon as possible. Dylan wasn't sure what to make of this development as she looked into the mirror.
