B&B Recap August 4: Katie Meets Melissa Dylan and It Does Not Go Well

On the Tuesday, August 4, 2026, episode of The Bold and the Beautiful, Katie was shocked at the state of Will's life, Electra wept, and Cater tried to reassure Daphne.

The Sadness of Electra

Electra paced Eric's living room, declaring to RJ and Eric that Will wasn't the man she thought he was. Eric hoped that Electra's eyes had now been opened. Eric called Will a "motorcycle-riding hothead," and RJ agreed. All Electra could do was smile and nod.

After Eric left, RJ informed Electra that Dylan told him about spending the night with Will...talking. Electra nearly blew a gasket at the idea of RJ knowing two people spoke while sitting on a couch. "I'm a fool for trusting Dylan. She played me," Electra lamented. RJ said that Dylan wasn't the only one to play Electra. Will did it too. Electra had no idea how she was going to get over this latest mess of her own making, but RJ promised to be by her side.

The Forresters Catch Up

In Eric's office, Carter handed Ridge his itinerary for the Monaco trip, noting that Ridge would be busy doing damage control for FC after Eric's disastrous press conference.

Ridge changed the subject and asked how Carter was holding up after learning about Daphne's early menopause diagnosis. A stoic Carter said he was fine, but Ridge was worried. Carter admitted it had been difficult, but he was determined to be strong for Daphne.

Ridge tried to remain positive for Carter, telling him that he and Daphne could become parents another way. Carter explained that they could do IVF and hormone replacement therapy, but there were no guarantees. Ridge suggested surrogacy or adoption. Carter admitted that wasn't the way they envisioned things.

After Carter left, Eric arrived all ready for a new day. He was pleased to hear all the buzz about the Monaco show. But Eric wanted to gossip more than talk business. "Bill Spencer's youngest spawn is living up to his name. Will broke Electra's heart again." (The scandal!)

Daphne's Distracted

Dylan walked into the design office to learn from Daphne that Electra wanted Dylan to be Daphne's assistant again. Daphne noted that Dylan didn't seem surprised. Dylan didn't think her friendship with Electra would ever be the same again.

Daphne didn't want to pry, but encouraged Dylan not to give up on her friendship with Electra. Dylan wanted to have Electra in her life, but didn't think Electra would ever want the same.

After Dylan left the office, Carter arrived to cheer up his distracted wife. She said she was throwing herself into work because she at least felt valuable. She felt worthless to Carter, not being able to give him the life he had always wanted. Like Ridge, Carter tried to tell Daphne that there were options, but she could only cry.

As for Dylan, she took some time to research Will's family on the internet. She was highly impressed with the Spencer money and the life the family led.

Mother Knows Best?

Katie walked into Will's beach house to find Chinese food all over the place and Will looking forlorn. "You're living like this?" Katie exclaimed. "What's it matter? Electra's left me forever," sad sack Will replied. He told his mom that Electra was there the night before. He once again begged her to stay, but she refused.

Katie told Will that he just needed to give it some time and Electra would come around. Will sighed that time wouldn't help after what he had done. With some prodding from Katie, Will told her about kissing someone else and spending the night talking on the couch.

Katie was shocked that Will would kiss someone else when he supposedly loved Electra so much. Will pointed out that Electra had said they were done, for the third or fourth time. Clearly, Will has lost track along with the audience. Katie asked who "she" was, so Will told her it was Dylan, a young woman Katie had yet to meet. "Dylan, Electra's best friend?" Katie asked, floored.

Katie thought that Dylan was part of the problem, but Will defended her. She was his friend, too, and was there for him when he needed one. When Will left for work, Katie stayed behind to clean up. That's when Dylan arrived to meet Will's mom. And it didn't go well at all as Katie accused Dylan of coming between Will and Electra.

"I know what you've done, what you're up to. I can see right through you, Melissa," Katie said.
