Carter’s a man who can make a decision, as evidenced by the Friday, October 2, episode of The Bold and the Beautiful. The Forrester Creations COO pushed his plan through to pass off Steffy’s surrogacy as the real deal. Also, Will called out his mom, Katie, who tried to get Dylan to do her dirty work. Meanwhile, Zende confronted Hope about their past at Hope For The Future.
Finding Forrester
At Forrester Creations, Daphne Rose, Ridge, and Brooke discussed fashion. Ridge hoped buyers would agree with Brooke’s positive description of Forrester Creations. Brooke said that there’s no way that Logan Designs can compete with Forrester Creations.
Daphne told Ridge that Carter was gone when she woke up. Ridge praised Carter for being a hard worker. He told Daphne that he wanted to keep with Carter when he came in to work. Ridge and Brooke left for an interview with a contractor.
Meanwhile, in the Forrester design room, Dylan urged Zende to go to Hope and Katie and to hear them out. Dylan said ignoring Hope’s messages wasn’t healthy. Zende asked if Katie had asked Dylan to talk to him. He added that she must be pretty crazy about Will.
Zende told Dylan that she made her pitch. He said if he were to reach out to Hope and Katie, it’d score some points between Katie and Dylan. Dylan told Zende to do it for himself – not her.
Later, Ridge and Brooke, at home, agreed to go with the contract. Ridge lamented that Carter hadn’t checked in with him. Ridge and Brooke snuggled on the sofa. Brooke said that she wanted to stay there and enjoy this moment in her handsome husband’s arms. Ridge noted there were more children on the way, regarding Daphne and Carter’s child. Brooke said the surrogate sounded like a remarkable woman.
Family Matters
At Logan Designs, Katie admitted to Hope that it wasn’t healthy for her to hang onto her anger about Bill and Brooke, but that it would always hurt. Katie said that it didn’t matter what her intentions were. Brooke will always be the victim.
Will entered and told Katie he knew that she was using his girlfriend to get to Zende. Katie became coy and shrugged that she had simply asked Dylan for a favor. Hope jumped in and explained that she just wanted to talk to Zende. Katie said that it was an opportunity for Will’s girlfriend to prove her loyalty. Hope reiterated that she only wanted to tell Zende how she felt and why she left Forrester to come to Logan.
Dylan met Will at the Logan Design room, responding to his invitation. Will informed his girlfriend that he knew Katie had asked him to talk to Zende. Dylan was worried about offending Katie. Will admitted that it’d be awesome if Zende came over to Logan. Dylan said that she wasn’t sure if she’d reached Zende after talking to him twice.
Will said that he didn’t like that Dylan had to “win over” Katie. Dylan said that she understood, as Will is Katie’s son. “Her adult son,” Will pointed out. He said that there was no need to point out how good and genuine Dylan was. Then, Dylan and Will kissed.
Meanwhile, Zende showed up at Katie’s office. Hope said that she wanted to speak to Zende in person. “I am so, so sorry,” Hope told Zende. Hope added that she felt terrible about how Zende found out she was leaving. Zende said that this wasn’t something one could apologize for in a text. He got angry. “I gave my life to you,” he said. Zende commented on his having spent years working with her, and she repaid him by leaving him.
Katie gently interjected that she could offer Zende an opportunity to work with Hope together again at Logan Designs. “Come here,” she said. “Come to Logan.”
The Rabbit Died
At Steffy and Finn’s house, Carter urged Steffy to go to Daphne and tell her the “good news” that the embryo was transferred and that she’s carrying their child. Steffy said they will not go for Carter’s plan. She told Carter that he knew nothing about the timing of all this. Carter countered that they’d say that they’d just started the process. Carter urged Steffy to get going now!
Steffy said that there would be appointments before the process could begin. Carter said that Finn will be a doting husband after he messed up in Monaco. “We have to start the clock…we have to do this today,” Carter implored.

Later, Carter and Steffy arrived at Forrester, ready to tell Daphne the lie. Steffy suggested that they simply tell the truth. They could tell Daphne about the way the baby was conceived. Steffy kept pleading with Carter to tell the truth. He countered that they had happy marriages to protect. Carter asked Steffy if she really wanted a child being bounced back and forth between two homes. Carter’s way would give the child all the love that he or she needs. Not all the love, Steffy shot back, referring to the love she would give her child.
Then, Daphne Rose entered. She asked Carter if everything was okay. Then, Carter told Steffy to tell Daphne the good news. Steffy remained silent. Carter said, "We did it…We did it, the implantation and fertilization…Steffy’s our surrogate."
