B&B Recap October 21: Finn and Li Summon Steffy, Carter, and Daphne

Brooke turned on the charm with Bill to help end the feud with Katie on The Bold and the Beautiful. Also, Finn demanded that Steffy, Carter, and Daphne come to his office to discuss the egg donation and surrogacy. All this and more happened in the episode that aired on Wednesday, October 21.

Baby Maybe

Steffy shared with Carter her concerns that the secret about how their baby was conceived would come out and be revealed. Steffy can’t believe she’s been going along with the lies. Carter said that they’d have to tell the lie forever – not just the next nine months. He added that the hard part was over. “We committed to this, Steffy. Daphne is thrilled,” Carter stated.

Then, Daphne Rose came in. She wanted to know what had happened after noticing the tension that she sensed between the two. Daphne realized that Steffy must have told Finn. “He’s extremely thrown and upset,” Steffy told Daphne Rose about her husband’s reaction. Daphne said that they never wanted to interfere in her and Finn’s marriage.

Daphne said it wasn’t her business, but why didn’t she open up to Finn about this? Carter shrugged it off and said Finn would get past the shock.

Doctors' Conference

Finn and Li tried to process the fact that Steffy went ahead and became both surrogate and egg donor for Carter and Daphne so that they could have a baby. Finn said it all went down while he was away at the medical conference. Finn said that the idea had been floated by him when he was leaving for his conference. He said he wrongly assumed that they had settled the matter. Li wanted to know why Steffy would do such a thing. Li marveled at Finn telling her that Steffy was going to be both egg donor and surrogate.

Finn told Li that Steffy had frozen some eggs a while ago. Li said that that was for them and not her co-workers! Li couldn’t figure out why Steffy had done this.

Finn called Steffy and asked her to bring Daphne and Carter to the hospital. Finn said to tell them that it was important. Steffy told Daphne and Carter that Finn wanted to see them at the hospital.

Daphne said that Steffy was giving Carter and her an incredible gift. Daphne said they would make sure Finn understood what a wonderful wife she was.

Brooke and Her Stallion

Bill told Brooke that he wasn’t in total agreement with her over Katie and the ongoing fashion war between Forrester Creations and Logan Designs. Bill admitted that he had concerns for Katie. Brooke said that Katie was playing dirty, and Bill had to put a stop to it.

Brooke proclaimed that Katie needed to stop what she was doing. Bill reminded Brooke that he was Dollar Bill and that businesses go through ups and downs. Bill said that Brooke wanted him to tell Katie to take her foot off the gas pedal.

Brooke said that Katie had to be stopped. She wanted a fair fight, and this has been anything but. Brooke said that she wanted humanity and understanding. Bill said that Brooke was entitled to her feelings, but that Bill was entitled to his. Then, he said that maybe there was a familial component to all this. He acknowledged that maybe this had gone too far.

Brooke recalled what had happened between Bill and Brooke in Aspen. Brooke said that Katie was getting revenge on her because of that. Brooke flashed back to spending time in Aspen with Bill. Brooke said that Bill was exactly what she needed at that time in her life. Bill did his stallion imitation. “Not bad,” Brooke said. Bill said he’d talk to Katie. Brooke urged Bill not to tell Katie about their meeting. It was just a professional conversation. Brooke thanked Bill for coming and hearing her out. Bill said that it was good to see Brooke.

Alone, Brooke flashed back to telling Katie that she loved her. Brooke told Katie that she was a very special person. Back to the present, Brooke said that she and Katie would get back to what they were. She said she missed her little sister so much.

Designing Woman

At Logan Designs, Katie told Will to come to a meeting in which they will discuss how to announce that Zende is joining Logan Designs. Will noted that Dylan paid the price for helping bring Zende to Logan. Will told his mother that she had to hire Dylan for a position.

Katie acknowledged that Dylan came through for her, so she’d consider giving her a job, but she would not support Will and Dylan’s romance. He told his mom that she might change her mind if she were around Dylan.

At her desk (after Will had left), Katie wrapped up a phone call in which she said that she expected a job to get done! Then, she greeted Bill, who said that he’d be there for the Zende strategizing session as it would be a win for Logan Designs and a loss for Forrester Creations.

Bill told Katie that he was impressed with how she’d built quite a team at Logan. Katie noted that they have a lot of former Forrester Creations employees working at Logan Designs – including her! Bill said that it would serve Logan well if they appeared not to rub Zende’s news in the faces of the Forresters. Katie thought Bill was kidding. “What’s going on with you?” Katie asked. “Is my husband in there? What is this all about?”

Checking into the Hospital

Steffy arrived at Finn’s office. She could tell by Li’s reaction that she knew about her being the egg donor and surrogate. Then, Daphne Rose and Carter followed Steffy into the office.

Finn jumped right in and asked Carter why they didn’t have a conversation about this surrogacy plan. Daphne Rose urged Finn to focus on the beautiful gift that Steffy was giving her and Carter. Daphne said that she was overwhelmed with gratitude. She pointed out to Finn that he has a loving and devoted wife. Finn said that he didn’t need to be reminded how great Steffy was. Finn told his wife that she could be pregnant by another man – Carter!
