Zende: B&B Recap October 9: Zende Quits, Eric Begs, Electra Gloats

Zende stepped out of the shadows on The Bold and the Beautiful in the Friday, October 9, 2026, episode. The designer stated where he was coming from, while Electra could practically taste the champagne that she’d be drinking once her former friend, Dylan, was ousted at Forrester Creations!

Ready for the Showstopper

In the design office, Zende told Dylan that he missed both Hope and Hope For The Future. Dylan said that Zende was valued at Forrester Creations. Zende assumed he’d spend his entire career at Forrester Creations. He admitted that there were pros and cons to each fashion house. Dylan suspected that Zende had made his decision. Then, Zende got a text from Ridge, asking to see him.

Across the hall in the CEO's office, Electra shared with Ridge and Eric that Dylan was behind Katie offering Zende a job. Eric couldn’t believe that Zende would leave Forrester Creations. He’s family! Ridge told Electra to go, and they’d handle Zende, who wouldn’t be going anywhere. Electra wanted to know about Dylan! She had to go!

Hope For Zende’s Future

Across town, Katie and Hope wondered about Zende’s decision. Will suggested that they give Zende time to decide. Katie said Brooke and Ridge, especially, and everyone at Forrester would lose their minds. Katie said Zende’s vision would be supported at Logan Designs.

Will said that Dylan has proved herself to Katie, not that she needed to. Katie said she may not have needed to, but she was smart to do so. Will texted Dylan.

It’s So Rich It’s Got To Be Fattening

Electra confronted Dylan in the design office about her going to Zende on Katie’s behalf. She informed her ex-pal that Ridge and Eric knew about it, too. Electra asked Dylan if she was afraid of losing her job, and that she should be. “I told Ridge and Eric what you did,” Electra gloated.

Dylan texted on her phone while Electra went on and on about Dylan being a traitor. Dylan maintained that all she did was deliver a message. Over at Logan Designs, Will got Dylan’s text, telling him that Zende was meeting with Ridge and Eric. Katie said she wanted it to happen not just for Logan Designs, but also for Zende, too.

Zende and Eric State Their Cases

Zende entered the office (after Electra had left). Ridge put it on the table. “We understand Katie offered you a job at Logan,” Ridge told his nephew. Eric asked if it was true.

Zende said he had been ignoring Hope’s texts, but then, when the opportunity had presented itself, he went over there to talk to her. He told Hope how betrayed he felt. Zende passionately told Ridge that Hope hurt him by leaving. He shared that there was something magical about collaborating with her. Ridge said Zende going to Logan would be a big mistake.

Eric told Zende that he belonged there. He reminded Zende that he and Stephanie founded the company. “This is where you belong,” Eric told his grandson. “This is where you’re valued. Here.”

Zende asked if he was truly valued at Forrester Creations. Zende said, intentionally or not, some people at Forrester have an advantage over others. Eric wondered what Zende meant. Zende pointed out that Ridge had an office upstairs while Thorne was in the basement. Also, Zende pointed out RJ’s cushy spot at the company. Ridge said that Zende was talking about his son.

An incensed Zende pointed out that RJ came home from his privileged “influencer” life and was handed his own design line. Ridge countered that RJ wasn’t handed anything. He asked Zende if Katie was truly concerned about Zende’s life. Zende said that Hope was sorry. Ridge wasn’t impressed. Zende reminded Ridge that Hope suffered the consequences of Ridge’s decisions – and so did he. Ridge wanted to know what Zende’s decision was.

Ridge told Zende that he was lucky. Zende said he knew he was lucky. Zende reminded Ridge and Eric that his life changed after Kristen visited him when he lived in the orphanage. “She saved me,” Zende said.

He revealed that he remembered his birth parents and his little brother, and how they were all destroyed by AIDS. Zende said he was proud to be a Forrester. “I should be higher up on the ladder,” he declared. Ridge and Eric said that happening for him would take time. Zende raged that it didn’t take RJ years! He added that being adopted into the family was the luckiest day of his life. Zende said that he was given both family and love. He’d never taken that for granted.

Zende said that he now had the chance to return to his passion – designing – if he took the job at Logan Designs. “I still feel like an outsider,” Zende said. He added that he didn’t want to have any ill will. Zende said that he’d put a lot of thought into this as it was one of the most important decisions of his life. “I’m giving my notice,” Zende announced. “I’m going to work with Hope at Logan. They need me, and they want me.”

Eric told Zende that he wasn’t going anywhere. “You’re a Forrester,” Eric said. “You belong here. You’re Kristen’s son. You’re my grandson…we need you here. Do you understand?”

Eric pointed out that this is how family businesses begin to crumble. Eric said that if Zende meant what he said, he wouldn’t leave. “Please, please don’t leave us,” Eric told his grandson.
