B&B Recap September 15: Carter Asks Steffy to Hand Him and Daphne Her Baby

On the Tuesday, September 15, 2026, episode of The Bold and the Beautiful, a conversation with Daphne gave Carter a big idea.

What's Wrong With Steffy?

In Eric's office, Taylor told Ridge that something was off with Steffy. Something seemed to be bothering her and it felt like it went beyond the Sheila Carter issues. "I'm not looking for trouble, but I'm telling you, something's up," Taylor insisted, claiming she was saying this as a professional.

Taylor said she had tried to talk to Steffy about what was bothering her, but she was keeping it all to herself. "Right when she got back from Monaco is when I noticed a change in her," she said. "The heaviness and that hasn't disappeared despite her and Finn being back together."

Ridge was still chalking everything up to what had happened with Sheila. He felt confident that Setffy had a good friend in Daphne and that his daughter would be okay. When Ridge changed the subject to Deacon, Taylor told him that Deacon had proposed, but she had turned him down.

A Baby Any Way They Could Get One

In the showroom, Daphne went on and on to Carter about her desire to have a baby. "Don't blame yourself. We're in this together," a nervous Carter said. Daphne was so impressed with how supportive Carter has been through all of this. Daphne marveled at how encouraging their friends had been about their predicament.

Carter was intrigued when Daphne mentioned using a donor egg and a surrogate. However, Daphne still felt it was a bit like a business transaction working with a random stranger. She preferred something more personal. "I just wish it was someone we knew...had some connection to them," she said.

Daphne said she didn't want to rule out any method of creating a family. "I know how important becoming a father is to you," Daphne said. Carter claimed that the dream was being a parent with Daphne. As Daphne spoke of a surrogate and egg donor they knew, Carter flashed back to Steffy telling him that she was pregnant.

After recalling Steffy telling him that she was going home to spill their secret to Finn, he told Daphne that he had to take care of something.

In Steffy's living room, Finn assumed that Steffy was still hysterical over what had happened in Monaco. Steffy swore that wasn't what was worrying her. It was what took place after. "I wasn't myself. I was crushed. I was filled with so much grief," she started.

Finn stopped Steffy before she could say much more. He understood why she had taken her ring off, but that was all behind them now. "I don't blame you. You let me down and you lose faith in me and us. But that can be behind us if we focus on us now," Finn said.

Steffy cried that she wished she could forget everything, but she couldn't anymore. "Whatever it is, we will deal with it," Finn insisted. But Steffy was a wreck and kept repeating cryptic things to confuse an already-confused Finn some more, as he blamed himself for everything.

"Finn, I was in a dark place. I was spiraling," Steffy said, as she threw her arms around Finn and he swore she would never lose him. Steffy continued to cry as Finn continued to reassure. "This just shows how resilient we are. Our marriage is stronger now," Finn said.

Finn went on and on about what an incredible and loyal wife Steffy was. She had given him Hayes and he loved Kelly as if she were his own. "Sharing Hayes' birth with you was one of the most beautiful moments of my life," Steffy cried. "Those moments are so precious to me. It's given me so much hope and so much courage and I just pray to God that it still will," she added, confusing Finn once again.

Soon, Finn was called to a medical emergency, but Carter stopped by to keep Steffy company and talk about the baby she was carrying. Steffy once again insisted that she had to tell Finn the truth. Carter wasn't about to let Steffy do that and destroy both of their marriages.

Steffy didn't see another way out of this, but Carter did. He reminded Steffy that she would do anything for Daphne and that Daphne was considering a donor egg and a surrogate. "She wants to use a surrogate and an egg donor, but she wishes it were someone she knew. Someone she admires and respects. Someone she trusts. You're her best friend. She loves you," Carter said.

Steffy turned around, knowing where Carter was heading. "What are you suggesting?" she asked.

"Daphne and I want a child. Badly. And you're pregnant. Agree to be our egg donor and surrogate," Carter said. "You don't know what you're saying," Steffy whispered. Carter said it was the only answer.
