Carter reminded viewers of The Bold and the Beautiful that he's a skilled attorney. The Forrester Creations COO was very convincing as he tried to get both his wife, Daphne Rose, and his one-time lover, Steffy, now pregnant, on board with the idea of the latter being the former's surrogate! Also, Taylor and Li lent support to Steffy and Finn, respectively!
You Want Who to Do What Now?
Daphne Rose can't believe Carter wanted Steffy to be their surrogate to bring their child into the world. Carter made it sound logical as Daphne Rose and Steffy were besties. Daphne Rose said that she was in shock. She called it crazy. Carter used Daphne Rose's own words against her, as she had wished her and Carter's surrogate could be someone that she knew.
Daphne said that she didn't want her surrogate to be a stranger. Carter said that it didn't have to be that way. He pointed out that it could be Steffy, a woman with whom Daphne has a bond. Daphne wondered how Carter thought of it. He said he wasn't asking lightly. Carter said that he knew what was at stake.
Daphne pointed out that they couldn't ask that of Finn and that it would be hard on her body. Carter kept persisting. He pointed out that Steffy was a tremendous friend. Carter urged Daphne Rose to say yes.
Carter said that the baby would be theirs; biologically, his, and Daphne's in every other way. Daphne said there was so much to think about. Carter urged Daphne Rose to go to Steffy and ask her. Daphne said that she couldn't put Steffy on the spot. Carter was adamant that Steffy would not say no. Daphne Rose wanted to know how Carter knew that. He said it's because she's a nice person.
Daphne Rose said she would not put her friend under that kind of pressure. Carter was frustrated that his plan wasn't working.
Mother's Advice
A despondent Steffy, at home, recalled reading the positive test result for her pregnancy and telling Carter that the baby was his. Then, she remembered Carter suggesting that she be the "donor."
Then, Taylor arrived with bagels for Kelly and Hayes. Taylor asked her daughter if everything was okay. Taylor gently probed and asked her daughter what was wrong. Taylor said Steffy could talk to her about anything.
Steffy assured her mother that she was no longer angry at Finn. She thought for sure her marriage to Finn was over. Taylor said that what her daughter had gone through was extremely traumatizing. Steffy admitted that she had lost her way and now, she didn't know what to do.
Taylor assured Steffy that both she and Finn were there for her. Taylor said it was only one day out of her life. Taylor wanted to know everything that was bothering Steffy.
Steffy said that she couldn't tell her what had happened, but that she was grappling with her response to what happened in Monaco. Taylor said that Steffy had every reason to be upset. Steffy said she needed to talk to Finn about it. Taylor agreed. They hugged. Taylor assured Steffy that everything was going to be okay.
Medical Center
Meanwhile, Finn shared with his mother that it would take more than a moment of poor judgment to tear them apart. Li blamed herself for letting Sheila find out about Finn's travel plans. She said she was glad there were no lasting repercussions from Finn's error.
Li claimed that 10 years from now, the trip to Monaco will have no bearing on their lives. She said that Steffy is just as devoted and committed as he is. It was just a disagreement that lasted a day!
Later, Finn updated his mother that his patient was doing better. He credited her with helping him be a great doctor. Li suggested that she did not have her son's bedside manner.
Li got a message from Daphne's doctor. The physician concurred that Daphne's best avenue was to use a donor. Li said that she related to Daphne's dilemma, but she said that a child would show up one way or another.

Alone in the design room, Daphne Rose reflected on her husband's impassioned pleas. Meanwhile, Carter showed up at the Cliff House as Steffy was about to text Finn so she could tell him what happened. Steffy and Carter recapped their dilemma. Carter reiterated that Steffy serving as his and Daphne's "donor" could solve all their problems. Carter said that Daphne was open to surrogacy. Steffy admitted that Daphne was her best friend and she loved her, but she was lying to her family. Carter said that the baby would have a loving home. Steffy asked if Carter knew what seeing someone else raise her baby would do to her.
Carter said that she'd still be a part of the baby's life. Carter said he floated the idea by Daphne Rose and said that she was moved by the idea of Steffy doing this for them. Carter said that Steffy would have to make Daphne Rose think that she (Steffy) wanted to be their surrogate. "Do it. Go to Daphne and tell her you'll be our surrogate and egg donor," Carter said. "Please."
