Taylor visited Finn to find out if Steffy was being more honest with him than she was being with her! Taylor gently let Finn know that Steffy was hurt by what happened in Monaco. Finn said he knew that he let her down, but his renewed commitment to his family was crystal clear. Taylor felt that Steffy was still back on the beach. How else to explain how upset she's been since Monaco?
Taylor said she talked to Ridge about Steffy's stress; Finn said he had talked to Li about it. Finn assured Steffy that he would not find a place for Sheila in their lives. Taylor assumed that Steffy's stress is Sheila-related. Could it be something else?
Finn said that he was doing everything he could to make Steffy happy. He couldn't think of any other reason that Steffy was unhappy. Taylor couldn't either and said it must be Monaco. Finn said that he took full responsibility for what had happened. "If only I'd just told her about Sheila right away," Finn lamented. Taylor said that Finn couldn't change what happened.
Taylor said that she's never questioned Finn's love for her daughter. She noted that he had been loyal to her just as she had been loyal to him.
Daphne's Daughter...or Son
Daphne Rose told Ridge that she was moving forward with finding a surrogate. Ridge was happy for her. Ridge suggested that Daphne take the samples over to Steffy, who was working at home. That way, she could clear her head. Daphne couldn't believe that she had walked out on Carter. She panicked. Daphne Rose admitted she abandoned the most loyal, loving husband in the world. She can't imagine how he got through the night that they were separated.
Daphne said it still killed her just how much pain she caused Carter. Ridge said that it made her stronger, and she'd need that strength for her little boy or girl.
Perjury
Carter continued to urge Steffy to go along with his idea that Steffy give her baby, fathered by him, to him and Daphne. She can say she was impregnated with the specific purpose of giving Carter and Daphne a child. Nobody needs to know that Carter and Steffy conceived the child naturally when they turned to each other.
Steffy balked again and again, but Carter said she wouldn't be lying to Finn. She'd just withhold the truth about how the baby was conceived. Carter saw this as the perfect solution. He and Steffy would keep their marriages intact, and he and Daphne Rose would get a little one. The only downside would be Steffy having to give up her child! She said she couldn't do that, especially after she gave up her daughter, Phoebe (who was really baby Beth), after she adopted her, not knowing the infant truly belonged to Liam and Hope.
Steffy told Carter that she couldn't live this way. Carter gently pointed out that the pregnancy wouldn't have to be a secret. He noted that Steffy's stress wasn't good for the baby. Steffy said lying to her best friend and husband would be stressful.
Carter said that they'd be building a new family, not ending their marriages. Carter noted how Daphne Rose was crushed when she found out that she couldn't have a baby. He said that Steffy was there for her then. Could he be there for her now? Carter asked his friend to say yes.
Carter recalled turning to Steffy in anguish and what a mistake that was, a colossal one. Steffy mused that it's getting bigger every day. Carter said there's still a chance to make this right. Steffy said that she had to come clean. Carter said that he and his wife want a child, and she wanted Steffy to be the surrogate.
"The truth always comes out," said Steffy. Carter said he'd take care of it. Steffy told Carter that he didn't know what it was like to be pregnant. Carter continued to press his point. He called Steffy's baby a gift. "Our baby," Steffy corrected him. "You want me to carry my child for nine months and just give my child to you. I can't do that. This is my child."
Carter told Steffy to go to Daphne and tell her that she'd be both their donor and surrogate. He said that Daphne was already on board with this.
Carter said that these were not normal circumstances. He added that things were meant to be. Carter said that the baby was wanted. He said he was already in love with this child, my child. "I've waited a long time to say those words," Carter said. "To be a father. It's finally happening."
Carter said that the baby would be given a stable, loving home. All she had to do is say yes so that Carter's and Daphne's dreams could come true.

Just then, Daphne Rose entered with the work samples that Ridge had given her. She could tell something was amiss. Daphne asked what was going on. Daphne wanted to know if Carter had talked to Steffy about being their surrogate.
Carter said that he had. Daphne told Steffy she would never ask this of Steffy. "Steffy said she'd do it!" Carter blurted out, lying to his wife in the process. He asked Steffy to tell his wife the good news. "Tell her," Carter said.
