Steffy: B&B Recap September 21: Steffy Agreed to Maybe Being Daphne and Carter's Surrogate

Carter's crazy plan to have Steffy serve as his and Daphne's surrogate on The Bold and the Beautiful might take form. On the episode that aired on Monday, September 21, 2026, Steffy opened herself up to the possibility. Meanwhile, Taylor conferred with Finn. Her ears were burning as, across town, Sheila and Deacon talked about Taylor's decision.

What's Truly Going on With Steffy

Finn informed Taylor that he loved Steffy more than life itself. Taylor conceded that her son-in-law was a good man, but he had to stop letting Sheila back into their lives. Finn said that was no longer an issue, even though he had failed her over and over again.

Finn said that he had no problem earning Taylor’s belief. The psychiatrist said that Finn, Steffy, and their kids deserve to have peace in their lives. Finn said family is all that matters. Taylor said that if Sheila stayed away, then they could all move on. She added that Sheila will not change, as Finn can’t risk his life with Steffy. Finn vowed never to let anyone come between him and Steffy ever again.

Taylor told Finn that Steffy hasn’t been the same since she came back from Monaco. She can feel that there’s something that she can’t let go of. Taylor said Steffy almost seemed shell-shocked. Finn said that he should have been honest with Steffy. He’ll never forget how she looked when she walked away. He’ll never forget how he made her feel. Taylor said that she couldn’t shake the feeling that Steffy is dealing with something else. Taylor told Finn that Steffy needed her. Finn said there was nothing he couldn’t handle.

Bikini, Bogey, and Bacall

Sheila showed up at Bikini and flirted with Deacon. She quoted Rick (Humphrey Bogart), the character from Casablanca, as she flirted with her ex-husband. Sheila said that she might take a walk on the beach because she loved feeling the sand between her toes (all eight of them)!

Sheila told Deacon that scars tell stories. Deacon quipped that it never hurt to put one’s best foot forward. Sheila asked for some of Bikini’s famous nachos to go with her Mai Tai. She added that she showed up there to see a friendly face. Deacon sat with Sheila and acknowledged she’d changed, but that Finn was always going to put Steffy and their kids first, rightfully so.

Sheila said that her son and grandson are mere miles away, but she’s not allowed to be a part of their lives. Sheila lamented that she might as well be in… Deacon quipped, “Monaco?” Sheila said that she regretted staying in Monaco after her plane got delayed, which led to Steffy seeing her eight toes on the beach. Sheila added she missed her old life – with Deacon.

Deacon said that between Bikini taking off and Il Giardino, he was working nonstop. Sheila wondered if Taylor was taking Deacon for granted. She marveled at Taylor turning her down. Sheila asked where her Deacon was, the man who had so much energy. He said he was doing fine. Sheila said that there was no other woman who knew him better. Deacon said that he and Taylor were doing fine, better than fine, in fact. Deacon knew why Taylor said no.

Sheila said that it might not bother Deacon that she ended their marriage so he could marry Taylor, and then she said no, but it sure bothered Taylor.

Sheila playfully made bubbles in her Mai Tai to catch Deacon’s attention. She wondered why her ex wasn’t more annoyed that Taylor said no. Deacon said the real question is why Sheila was. The naughty nurse responded by saying that Sheila’s heart was ripped out when she lost Deacon. She made Deacon smile, despite himself.

Pregnant Pause

Daphne couldn’t believe that Steffy was willing to give Carter and her a baby. Steffy was speechless. “I know how much you want a child, Daphne,” Steffy said. Daphne Rose marveled that Steffy could make such a sacrifice.

Carter interjected that Steffy’s decision (actually, it was Carter’s decision) was so selfless. Carter was right when he said that Steffy brought him and Daphne Rose together. “We are beyond blessed to have you in our lives,” Daphne told Steffy. “If you were to do this, that would make this family for real.”

Steffy started to tell Daphne Rose something (probably the truth!), but Carter jumped in and shared that Steffy already had her eggs frozen. This was all going to work out! Yay! Daphne Rose wondered if something might happen over the next year. “Maybe sooner,” Carter interjected, knowing full well that his plan is for things to happen much, much sooner!

Daphne wondered if Finn was okay with all this. Steffy said that she hadn’t spoken to Finn yet. Daphne questioned how Steffy could have made this big decision without talking to her husband first.

Carter said that Steffy wanted to talk to him and Daphne Rose first. Daphne Rose said that pregnancy was about so much more than just the baby; Steffy’s body would change, and then she would have to give up the baby. Daphne couldn’t imagine what that would take. But Daphne Rose said nobody would love the child more than she and Carter would. Daphne Rose called Steffy her dearest friend. “I’m so grateful for you,” Daphne Rose said. She added that if Steffy were to give her and Carter a baby, it would mean the world to her and be the greatest gift anyone could give.

“If I were the right candidate, I’d consider it,” Steffy told her pal. Daphne Rose hugged Steffy while Steffy locked eyes with an anguished Carter.
