Steffy only recently found out she's pregnant on The Bold and the Beautiful, but she already feels as if she's riding a roller coaster thanks to Carter's plan that she lie about their night of intimacy. First, Steffy told Daphne Rose that she might be able to be their surrogate, but then told Carter she couldn't on the Tuesday, September 22, episode of B&B.
Carter’s Plan Is Working…Maybe
Daphne Rose embraced a stunned Steffy and thanked her for maybe being her and Carter’s surrogate. Daphne Rose went on about Steffy being her dearest friend, but wanted to know, based on Steffy being emotional, if she was truly sure about doing this.
Carter said that Steffy has eggs frozen, so this could all work out very soon. Steffy said she couldn’t do this under normal circumstances, and she couldn’t do this for just anybody. A tearful Steffy announced that she would do it for Daphne Rose.
A grateful Daphne got a call from her doctor. She needed to leave right away. Carter said that they’d found their surrogate. “I can’t do this,” Steffy said as soon as Daphne walked out the door. She couldn’t lie to her best friend or to Finn.
Carter told Steffy that they had no other choice but to continue with their façade. He suggested it was meant to be. Steffy said giving away her child goes against every instinct that she feels as a mother. Steffy said if they go through with this, it’s not divine intervention. It’s because they got drunk and cheated on their spouses.
Carter kept reiterating that Steffy would be giving them a gift. Steffy said that they needed to tell their truth. Carter counted that their marriages wouldn’t survive. He added that Kelly and Hayes will have their lives torn apart. Carter said this is a way to keep families together. He pointed out that Steffy could give him and Daphne a gift. Steffy said that she couldn’t do it.
Carter said to Steffy that she should go to Finn and tell him that she’s using one of her eggs for Carter and Daphne. Steffy said that Finn was going to a conference. Carter said that Steffy needed to go to him now!
Finding Forrester Creations
Meanwhile, Ridge’s workday was interrupted by his son-in-law. Finn wanted a few minutes of Ridge’s time. Finn said that Steffy is still too traumatized by what happened in Monaco. Finn revealed that Steffy has an extra burden going on, and that he didn’t know what it was. Ridge said that he was worried, too. Finn pointed out that if a world-renowned psychiatrist like Taylor was concerned, which she was, then something was truly wrong. Ridge said Finn needed to fix this.
Finn asked Ridge to cover for him while he was out of town on medical business. Finn didn’t mean covering for him at the hospital, but rather with Steffy. Ridge agreed. If he sees Steffy start to spiral, Ridge should call Finn, and he’ll come right home. Ridge advised Finn to stay away from Sheila.
Carter showed up at the Forrester Creations CEO's office (after Finn left). Ridge told him that the Electra by Electra Forrester line needs to be a go now. What were his thoughts? Carter hesitated. Ridge asked if Carter was distracted because of the baby. What baby, Carter asked? Ridge clarified that it was the baby that’s on the way (not knowing that the baby was already on the way!). Ridge said that the woman who’s going to help him and Daphne Rose was out there. “You’re right,” Carter nodded as he stared at a photo of Steffy. “She has to be.”
Meanwhile, Steffy flashed back to her predicament. Finn showed up to get his small suitcase to take to the conference. He noticed that Steffy seemed upset. Finn offered to stay. Steffy told him to go, as he was a speaker. She suggested that he have a few drinks while he was there. Finn asked Steffy to open up to him. She could tell him anything. “There is something you need to know,” Steffy said.
Finn said that he spoke to Ridge and Taylor about Steffy’s state. Finn reached out to Steffy and asked her not to worry about a thing. Steffy said that Finn should go to his conference and have a few drinks. She begged Finn to never question that she loves him. Finn said that even after Steffy took her rings off in Monaco, he never stopped believing in her.
Steffy said that there was something she needed to tell him. Steffy said that Carter and Daphne need an egg donor and a surrogate. Finn hoped for the best for them. Steffy said this was coming out of nowhere, but asked what if Carter and Daphne’s donor and surrogate would be her. “What if I offered to give Carter and Daphne a baby?” Steffy asked a surprised Finn.
Deacon and Sheila May Not Be Over

At Bikini, Sheila asked Deacon if Taylor was treating him like a forgettable fling. Deacon urged Sheila not to talk about Taylor. Sheila reminded Deacon that she just wanted to be loved. Sheila changed the subject by asking about Hope and Deke. She was happy that Deacon got to share in his children’s joys. Sheila lamented that she couldn’t enjoy the same happiness.
Sheila said that she respected Finn and his marriage. She said that she didn’t want anything to come between him and his marriage – not even her.
