The Bold and the Beautiful: B&B Recap September 7: Katie Is Contrite, Steffy’s Dinner Guests Give Her a Panic

A dinner party almost caused the big secret on The Bold and the Beautiful to be exposed. Meanwhile, Dylan's dream came true as Will asked her to stay, prompting her to say those three magic words!

Guess Who's Coming to Dinner

Finn arrived home with flowers, food, wine, and dessert. Steffy didn't get his text as her phone was charging in another room. Finn explained that two of his wife's favorite people were coming over for dinner -- Carter and Daphne Rose. Finn shared that Daphne had reached out to him about her fertility.

Meanwhile, in Eric's office, Daphne Rose interrupted Carter, who was working on his laptop. She told him that Steffy and Finn had invited them over for dinner. He said he wanted to work late. Daphne said that this wasn't just dinner; she reached out to Finn with medical questions about how to have a family.

Finn said that anything that came up during dinner that would be too heavy was off limits. He reminded Steffy that he'd never let anything destroy their marriage, and he'd never keep anything from her. Finn noted that neither would Steffy -- not that she ever would.

Daphne updated Finn with an arrival time. She suggested to her husband that they pick up a bottle of wine on the way. Daphne asked Carter if there was something he needed to share. She recounted having made a mess the night she walked out on him. Carter said that he'd made a mess, too.

Daphne said that she wanted to chat with the Finnegans about marriage; after all, they had the best marriage, along with her and Carter's union. Carter looked at the sofa in Eric's office where he and Steffy had made love.

Finn massaged his wife's neck and said that if they didn't have company coming over, he'd give her a full-body massage. Steffy said that Carter would understand if they canceled. Finn told Steffy that their marriage was strong, and they'd learned that they could survive anything.

Timing Is Everything

A timer went off in the kitchen. Finn said -- as Kelly would say -- BRB (be right back). Then, Daphne and Carter arrived. Daphne noted that Steffy seemed surprised by the impromptu dinner, just as Carter was.

Daphne Rose encouraged Carter to have more wine. "Live a little," she said. Carter and Steffy exchanged a few deft looks. Daphne Rose thanked Steffy for supporting her and Carter. Finn asked if Steffy was the reason Daphne Rose relocated to Los Angeles. Daphne said she was glad that they all got to be there. She was grateful for the commitment that she and Carter had made to having a family -- one way or another.

Daphne Rose said that Finn and Steffy were the perfect role models when it came to an honest and loyal relationship.

My Daughter's Not a Gold Digger

Will asked Dylan to stay as Darcy smiled, and Katie continued to show her dismay. Katie shared that she was concerned about her son. Darcy said that no one would be saying anything bad about Dylan in front of her. Katie said that Darcy should understand why she would be concerned about who her son was with. Darcy turned it around by saying that, as they had no money, she didn't have to worry about golddiggers going after her daughter. Katie couldn't help but smile.

On a more serious note, Darcy explained that Dylan was not a gold digger. Will said that that was true, and his mom would see that. Dylan told Darcy that she was embarrassing her with her praise; Darcy said that Katie must do the same to Will. He agreed that she did. Katie said that she and Will were always close.

Will said he was glad that he could tell Dylan what she meant to him. He saw Dylan the same way that Darcy did. Both Will and Darcy said that Dylan was inspiring. Will said he admired Dylan and respected her. He added that he also respected his mom's opinion, but carefully pointed out that Katie was wrong about Dylan. Katie took in what Will was saying.

Katie said that Will was kind. Will suggested that they start over. Katie confessed that she may have jumped to conclusions. She added that she wasn't raised with money, and her father also walked out on the family. Katie did say that Will had just gotten out of a relationship with the love of his life (Electra). Katie did say that she's learned some positive things about Dylan. Katie apologized for coming on too strong. She kissed Will and left. Dylan and Will smiled at each other.

Will offered the same guest room over the garage where Dylan stayed to her mother. Dylan said her place wasn't close to the beach, but they would be going back there. Darcy thanked Will for the offer. He said he'd get her surfing. Darcy quipped one-near-death experience -- going up against Katie -- was enough. She thanked Will and then went to the car.

Dylan put her arms around Will and thanked him for saying what he did. She said it was kind of a turn-on to hear him defend her that way. Then, they kissed. "Miss? You coming?" Darcy said (off-camera).

Dylan told Will that she loved him. "I love you," she said. Then, Darcy called Dylan again. Dylan left. Alone, Will smiled.
