Destiny Under Duress: The Bold and the Beautiful Two Scoops For the Week of May 11

The Bold and the Beautiful did the right thing and did not destroy a father/daughter relationship for the sake of appeasing Brooke. Despite her audacious request, Ridge held his ground, and there's so many ways that this could split off into, and it's time to break it all down, two scoops style.

Brooke tried it. She really did. Brooke tried to make the ultimate power play this week, but she failed. She was convinced that Ridge would see the light and have no objections to the idea of ousting his own daughter from the spot that she'd worked hard to flourish in. However, a major dose of reality hit her smack in the face on Friday's all-new episode when it was revealed that she would not be stepping into Steffy's position as co-CEO. Brooke's motivations were questionable, from wanting to revive Hope's shelved line to a desperate need to lead the company against her sister, Katie. It didn't make any business sense to go with Brooke as co-CEO, and shockingly, Ridge did the right thing.

Where does their marriage go from here, though? She put her husband in an extremely compromising position, forcing him to choose between his wife and his daughter. Who does that to someone they claim to love? Is this destiny under duress? There's no way to move forward at the office without making things uncomfortable. Steffy is now well aware that Brooke is gunning for her job, and Brooke is going to resent Steffy for preventing her ascension to the throne alongside Ridge.

Why are viewers being subjected to scenes between Daphne and Dylan? The stakes could not possibly be any lower with these two characters interacting on such a frequent basis. Technically, Daphne ruined Dylan's shot at a future with Will by pointing Electra in the direction of Ivy and the missing letter. If she had remained out of the drama, it's entirely possible that Will and Dylan would've become an item, and she'd still be at the beach house. However, whether it's a guilty conscience or something else entirely, Daphne seems obsessed with rolling out the red carpet for Miss Dylan at Forrester Creations.

It feels like there's a very distinct direction that this story could head in, and it would be the only way to potentially save it. What if Daphne can't get pregnant and Dylan becomes their surrogate? This would give Dylan something to sink her teeth into that doesn't involve Will and Electra or whatever strange plot they're cooking up with Remy. Also, if anybody besides Dylan needs a good storyline, it's Daphne and Carter. Ever since finally getting married, they've somehow become duller than they were before, so this feels like the best solution for everyone involved.
