Dylan's Not the Villain...and Neither Is Sheila (This Time): B&B Two Scoops for the Week of August 3rd

The Bold and the Beautiful is trying to pull a fast one on us and we're not buying it. The show seems to have inadvertently turned Electra Forrester into a monster and now they are trying to play clean-up by claiming what we have seen from Dylan over the last year has all been our imagination. And we are here to say: Nope.

She's a Free Spirit

So, B&B means to tell us that the sweet pre-school art teacher who Luna held at gunpoint, tied up, and stuck in a closet is the vixen? The girl who willingly left a comfortable room and bed to eat pizza out of a dumpster in order to not upset the delicate sensitivities of her "best friend" is the bad guy here? And the whiny little brat who wanted her BFF to live on the streets is the poor, put-upon heroine our hearts are supposed to bleed for? Really? Cause that's not how this works in the real world or the soap world.

Now, Dylan is getting a mother, presumably so we can learn that she is hiding a deep, dark secret and is indeed targeting the Spencer family. There had been no indication of this at all before, but we can see it coming and it's not going to work and here's why...

A Word About Electra

We understand what B&B envisioned for this character two years ago when she was first introduced, but it didn't work out or play out that way at all. While we felt bad for her with the deep fakes and the Remy stalker situation, it was in a ho-hum sort of way because Electra was just so wishy-washy boring.

Electra seemed to get some life to her when she noticed Luna was after Will and smacked her in the middle of Il Giardino, but then she acted like the victim when Luna raped Will. The poor young man had been through enough and then Electra had to put him through more. And that's when we started giving this girl the side eye.

When she decided that her "best friend" needed to be homeless because she didn't have enough confidence in her relationship to trust Will around Dylan, we were done with her. If she cared about Dylan at all, she would have offered to put her up at sainted Uncle Eric's mansion and the problem would have been solved. But instead, she just wanted Will to kick Dylan out onto the street with no backup at all.

And let's not forget when Will had to explain homelessness to Electra. She couldn't imagine how Dylan ended up that way, so Will had to walk her through real life. And in Electra's fictional real life, she nearly fainted the moment she first laid eyes on RJ as Will's name became a distant memory for about 30 seconds until Ridge brought her out of whatever fantasy land she had entered. But this week, Will is the love of her life and she is going to just have to love him from afar. Spare us, Electra.

We have said this before and it bears repeating: It's time to go all out with Electra and make her the vixen she was born to be. Stop trying to tell us who is in what role when that is not what we are seeing on screen. Dylan has definitely been the one to root for thus far and changing it this far into the game won't work.

Katie, Check Yourself

What was that, Katie? Two weeks ago, our hearts broke for her and this past week, we were ready to throw her out the window. Has Katie spent any time with Electra since the Luna days? Because she is not the sweet and innocent flower Katie seems to think she is and does nothing but hurt Will on a loop? Even Will could admit that Electra dumps him every other Tuesday, something Wyatt and Bill see for what it is — an unhealthy relationship that needs to end for good.

And Katie sure judged Dylan harshly without ever meeting her, while also declaring that Dylan should have continued living out of her car and eating out of dumpsters rather than accept Will's generosity in allowing her to stay in a room above the garage with its own separate entrance. Katie also acted like she didn't come from humble beginnings as she accused Dylan of targeting Will and the Spencers for their money.

Some say that B&B is trying to position Dylan as the next Brooke and Katie as the next Stephanie, but maybe Dylan and Electra should have had a different last year if that were to happen.

Why We're (Sorta) TeamSheila

Taylor and Deacon are absolutely delusional as they still seem to think there was nothing wrong with what they did. When Deacon said, "Leave it to Sheila to ruin a good time," while talking about her nearly catching him cheating on her, he proved that he and Taylor are living in some fantasy world. They feel bad for poor, lonely Sheila? Well, maybe they shouldn't have turned her into a lonely, cuckolded woman. So, watching these two revel in their "love" in Steffy's house is one reason we're TeamSheila.

Steffy? She needs to give it a rest. We get that what Sheila did to her was abhorrent and traumatizing, but she did the same thing to Finn before chasing Li's car into the ocean and leaving her for dead, and they forgive her. Plus, Sheila took a bullet for Steffy last summer. Watching Steffy remain adamant about "No Sheila" while Finn and Li do makes no sense, so listening to Steffy's constant Sheila panic attacks is getting old.

Now, should Sheila have hopped that flight to Monaco with Finn? Nope. Disaster looms. But perhaps this disaster will finally give Sheila what she wants.
