Katie: B&B Recap September 29: Brooke Bites the Bullet, and Calls Hope

Hope For The Future may be defunct at Forrester Creations on The Bold and the Beautiful, but on the Tuesday, September 29, episode of B&B, Ridge encouraged Brooke to reach out to Hope. Meanwhile, Katie stepped up her plan to force Dylan to get Zende to jump ship to Logan Designs!

Ridge Gives Brooke Hope For The Future

Ridge told a dejected Zende that his talent was needed at Forrester Creations for Electra by Electra Forrester. “We’re all counting on you,” Ridge told his nephew. Zende said that he couldn’t be excited about the new youth line, as a few months ago, they were getting ready to relaunch Hope For The Future.

Brooke entered and shared Zende’s feelings about Hope not being at Forrester anymore. After Zende left, Brooke commented on Katie’s betrayal. Ridge told Brooke that she didn’t deserve the pain that Katie had caused her. Brooke said that Katie doesn’t see hiring Hope as “stealing” her. Ridge noted that Brooke missed seeing her daughter every day.

Brooke said that she loved that Hope was admired by young women all over the world. She pointed out that Katie was trying to replace Hope in Brooke’s life, or at least it felt that way. Brooke feared things wouldn’t change. She would like them to go back to the way they were. Brooke said a lot depended on Katie and the hold she had on Hope. Brooke wondered if Katie was intentionally cruel. “Is this what she wants to do?” Brooke said about Katie hurting people. “My sister is a stranger to me. I have no idea what she’ll do next.”

Ridge wondered what Bill and Katie were planning next, but figured it’d be something down and dirty. Ridge asked Brooke what he could do. Brooke wasn’t sure, but she knew that she missed her daughter and her granddaughter.

Ridge suggested Brooke reach out to Hope. “Give her a call,” Ridge said. Brooke picked up her phone and dialed. At Logan Designs, Hope saw Brooke’s face pop up on her phone, but she sent it to voicemail. Brooke left a message. She told her daughter that it had been a while since they’d spoken. Hope listened to the message as Brooke said she missed her daughter very much. Brooke hung up.

Designing Woman

Katie recapped the shuffling between Forrester Creations and Logan Designs in recent months to Dylan. She said that Dylan had access and could speak to Zende on behalf of Logan Designs. Katie said that if Dylan got word to Zende and he called Katie, it would be a great first step in Dylan proving herself to Katie and the company.

After Dylan left, Hope talked to Katie in the design room. Katie said that if Dylan wanted to prove her loyalty, then she would speak to Zende and get him to reach out.

Katie noted that Hope was probably worried about her mother. Hope feared hiring Zende away would make things worse. Katie said she wasn’t sure how that could happen. Everything was Katie’s fault!

Hope noted that everyone was hurting. Katie assured her niece that this was just business. She advised Hope to reach out to Zende one more time.

Reach Out and Text Someone

Back at Forrester, Dylan interrupted an agitated Zende. She observed that he seemed to be frustrated. Zende said that he didn’t have time to go into it. Dylan said she had something to ask of Zende.

Hope wondered if Dylan could do what Katie had asked. Katie was like, "Oh, please! When that girl wants something, she’ll go after it." Katie told Hope that Dylan wanted to impress her, and getting Zende to call would help achieve that.

Back at Forrester, Dylan suggested to Zende that he seemed frustrated. Zende turned his design over, facing down on the board. Dylan noted that Zende and Hope were so tight. Dylan suggested that Zende reach out and talk to Hope. Zende asked what that had to do with Dylan?

Dylan shared that she was at Logan having a tour when she learned that Hope had reached out to Zende. Dylan suggested that Zende do himself and her a favor by reaching out to Hope and Katie. Zende wondered how that would help Dylan. She hedged that she just wanted peace.

Then, Zende got a text from Hope. Dylan told him to go to her. Zende texted back to Hope. Over at Logan Designs, Hope got the text. It read that Zende wasn’t interested. Katie demanded that Dylan come through for her, as Logan Designs needs Zende!

Back at Forrester, Zende was alone. He stared down at the mostly empty design. Then, he saw the text message he sent back to Hope, which read, simply, “No thank you.”

Dylan Needs to Try Harder

Katie walked into the beach house (as if she owned it), demanding to know if Dylan had done what she had asked. Dylan said she did. Katie grunted that Zende didn’t want to talk. “What exactly did he say to you?” an annoyed Katie wanted to know.

Dylan revealed that Zende seemed frustrated. Katie said that made sense. Dylan noted that she wouldn’t use the word miserable to describe Zende. Katie glared at Dylan, who hastened to say that Zende didn’t seem happy. Katie pointed out that Zende would be celebrated at Logan Designs. She said that Deke is talented, but he needs help and guidance. Katie declared that Dylan needed to make this happen. Dylan wasn’t sure what else she could do. Katie urged her to make it happen. “If you’re hoping for my support and trust, you need to go back and talk to Zende again. Make it happen. Finish the job, Melissa,” Katie demanded.
