TV Insider reported that Sullivan, best known to soap fans as Connie Falconeri/Kate Howard on General Hospital, has been cast as Dylan's mother.

"I’m very excited to join the @boldandbeautifulcbs family and bring this force of nature to life," Sullivan posted on Instagram. "Thank you, Brad Bell [executive producer/head writer], for giving this amazing character to me. I can’t wait to step into Darcy’s boots. 🥰."

TV daughter Sydney Bullock (Dylan) posted: "YAYYYYY SO EXCITED MAMA."

Sullivan burst onto the soap scene as Connie/Kate, taking on the role previously played by Megan Ward. The actress took on the role of tortured Connie, who dealt with traumas from her past as she interacted with Sonny (Maurice Benard) and her cousin, Olivia Falconeri Quartermaine (Lisa LoCicero).

Connie and Olivia had had a falling out after the former went off to college, and rebranded herself as sophisticated Kate Howard. Connie's fate was sealed, alas, after she discovered that Derek Wells was, in reality, Julian Jerome (Will deVry).

Ava (Maura West) shot Connie to keep her from revealing Julian's identity. A dying Connie drew the initials "A.J." in blood, a nod to Heather Webber (then, Robin Mattson) drawing the name "Anne" in blood after Diane Taylor (Brooke Bundy) was shot to death, accidentally by Heather's mother, Alice (Lieux Dressler).

Many thought A.J. Quartermaine (Sean Kanan) was the culprit, but the "A.J." stood for "Ava Jerome." Ava got off on a technicality, which prevented justice from being served.

Oddly, Sullivan was passed over for a Daytime Emmy nomination despite her receiving critical acclaim for her performances. Next, she popped up on The Young and the Restless as Sage, a mysterious woman who helped reintroduce Adam (Justin Hartley; now Mark Grossman) to the show's storyline.

Sage had relationships with both Adam and Nick (Joshua Morrow), Nick's brother. She gave birth to a son, Christian. Tragically, Sage was killed in a car wreck, leaving her son without a mother. Nick believed he was the father, but the true dad was Adam. The two brothers decided that it would be best for Christian to remain in the only home that he knew -- with Nick.

How will the arrival of Darcy affect Dylan's plan to win Will's (Crew Morrow) heart on B&B? Sound off in the comments below!
