The Bold and the Beautiful’s Scott Clifton celebrates a personal milestone he’ll never forget

The Bold and the Beautiful star Scott Clifton has plenty to draw from in real life when he steps into Liam Spencer's dad mode with his daughters, Kelly and Beth. In real-life, the actor is dad to son, Ford Robert Clifton, who has just celebrated a major milestone in life. The senior Clifton is waxing poetic about his son in light of this momentous occasion.

The Bold and the Beautiful, 10th birthday

"The Big Ten. Double digits. A decade of life for you, and of fatherhood for me—with all its precious slings and arrows," Clifton posted on Instagram along with some photos of himself and his son, Ford, who was born on May 6, 2016.

"I am so proud of you it aches," the proud papa continues on the occasion of his son turning 10 years old. "Your growth, your humor, your intelligence, your artistry, your self-awareness, your wisdom, and the ever-growing precision of your moral compass.

"Someone I admire recently told me I was a 'good man, living a good life,' and for a brief moment I wondered why such a lovely compliment didn’t fill me up the way it might have in years past," Clifton mused. "And then it occurred to me that the meaning of one’s life is designed to change over time: I’m not in the business of being the best man I can be anymore; I’m in the business of raising the best man I can raise—acutely aware that I’ll only ever be a tiny piece of your story.

"You could hate me, you know," philosophizes the three-time Daytime Emmy-winning performer. "You could resent my failures with your mother, the quaint distractions of my career; you could resent the tough love, the discipline, the pep talks and lectures, even the stranger I brought into your life who you would eventually ask to call 'Stepmom.' But you have not only embraced each of these growing pains with grace and prescience, you’ve asked for more. God, I love you. And I love who you’ve made me. Happy birthday, my son."

The B&B star received praise regarding his insights from fellow cast member and fellow real-life father Lawrence Saint-Victor (Carter). "Beautifully said bro ❤️ Happy Birthday, Ford," the B&B actor/writer posted.

Clifton's not only profound, but he's witty, too. He gave credit to the photos in his post to photographer @phillip_barlow — "the good ones, anyway."
