This week on The Bold and the Beautiful, the Forrester family continued to micromanage every facet of everyone's lives. Nobody in Los Angeles has the autonomy to make their own decisions if it conflicts with how someone in the Forrester family wants things. Beyond that, Taylor has become the very thing that she has spent decades despising. For someone who loathes Brooke, she is doing an incredible job impersonating her arch-nemesis.
The Forresters control all on The Bold and the Beautiful

Nobody has a greater chokehold on everyone in Los Angeles than the Forresters. The first family of fashion has no qualms about dictating what people should do and how they should live. It's not just one or even two members of the family, either. This seems to be a deeply ingrained trait that nearly everyone in the Forrester clan possesses. From Ridge at the top of the Forrester food chain down to Electra and Ivy, they have a serious issue with control.
The week concluded with Ridge walking in on Deacon and Taylor kissing, and he immediately demanded that Deacon leave Taylor alone. How audacious is that? Ridge chose to give up Taylor and go back to Brooke. Nobody forced him to remarry his precious Logan. There is no plane of existence where Ridge should be able to dictate the details of Taylor's personal life. Just as Ridge finds several faults in Deacon of why he isn't a good fit for Taylor, the same could be said about Brooke and her laundry list of past transgressions.
Steffy is just as bad as her father, and although viewers have come to expect that, Ivy has crept up as another Forrester with a desperate need to pull the strings of every non-Forrester puppet. Her improper treatment of Dylan spilled over into this week. Ivy loomed large over Dylan to make sure that she delivered a fake story to Will and Electra and actually skipped town. The worst part of the entire ordeal is that Ivy did not see what she thinks she saw. However, because she is a Forrester and their word is gospel, Dylan has been sentenced to a life of exile.
Deacon and Taylor have officially lost the plot

Although Steffy and Ridge's treatment of Taylor is unacceptable, that doesn't impact the validity of their concerns. Taylor and Deacon are a recipe for disaster, and it's only a matter of time before Sheila discovers what they're doing in those all too frequent late-night sessions. Despite all that, the actual affair is the most baffling part. Taylor has spent countless years slamming Brooke for stealing Ridge from her and using every less-than-flattering adjective to describe her. Sadly, Taylor is becoming the thing she hates the most, and she doesn't even realize it.
Deacon is the one who agreed to reunite with Sheila after their brief split when she lied about Luna. Nobody forced him to make his marriage work. Sheila has done nothing wrong or out of pocket since their reconciliation, which makes Deacon's betrayal sting even more. Taylor, on the other hand, has compromised her professional integrity to continue treating a patient, and she's willing to risk it all for a man she barely knows outside her office.
Who betrays their children and other family members to pursue pleasurable personal gain? If this were asked a year ago, Brooke would have been an easy answer. However, Taylor has inserted her name into that conversation. Steffy issued the most black-and-white ultimatum ever to her mother, but that hasn't kept Deacon and Taylor apart. It's as if they are addicted to the secrecy and the danger of it all. There's no other explanation for risking losing their families and Sheila's wrath for a flash-in-the-pan romance.
