The Bold and the Beautiful Daily Rehash, June 3: Hope is making the same mistake Eric made

The Bold and the Beautiful's Hope claims to be ready to take on a new future at Logan, but her actions prove otherwise. On the June 3, 2026, edition of the soap, Hope reiterated to Deke the importance of keeping their involvement with the upstart fashion house a secret, mirroring the same mistake that Eric previously made.

Eric (John McCook) thought that it was in everyone's best interest if he kept his involvement with Logan quiet from everyone at Forrester. However, while trying to prevent unnecessary conflict, he ultimately created a much deeper divide between the two companies. Bill (Don Diamont) and Katie (Heather Tom) co-signed his secrecy, allowing him to keep the truth from Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) and Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) until it became too difficult for Eric to keep it a secret. The secrecy made the entire reveal far more explosive than it would have been, and it further disintegrated the relationship between Brooke and Katie.

Hope (Annika Noelle) had a front-row seat to the catastrophic fallout from those decisions, but she's choosing to use the same playbook for some reason. The longer she keeps the truth from her mother and Ridge, the more betrayed everyone is going to feel. Everyone at Forrester Creations is operating under the false impression that Hope is one day going to strut back into the hallowed halls of the company, and that is just not the case. As insufferable as he can be, the more Ridge made a genuine effort to make Hope and her line feel valued at the company, the more obvious it was that the eventual fallout would be apocalyptic.

One thing that was crystal clear throughout the entirety of Wednesday's episode was that Ridge believes Hope's departure is temporary. He went out of his way to ensure that she knew she had a place at Forrester. Hope actually sat there and smiled in their faces, knowing she'd already signed a contract to become the face of Logan's next collection. Ridge is attempting to mend a relationship that is already too far gone, and Hope isn't doing anything to correct him. Unlike previous attempts that felt somewhat hollow, it felt as if Ridge's efforts to reach Hope were wholeheartedly sincere.

Once the truth comes out, it's not going to be just about her leaving Forrester for the competition. This is going to morph into an entire battle over her perceived betrayal and how long she withheld the news from everyone. Hope is setting the stage for an ugly, brutal confrontation that may cause irreparable damage between herself, Ridge, and Brooke. Hope lying to everyone's face is going to make the eventual truth so difficult to accept, and she isn't even thinking about the damage she might do to their family. By the end of today's episode, Ridge was fighting for a future that doesn't exist, and Hope was fully content letting it happen.
