The Bold and the Beautiful Daily Rehash, May 14: Brooke and Hope couldn't be more transparent

The Bold and the Beautiful's Steffy is often annoying, but she's no dummy, and she proved that on the Thursday, May 14, 2026, episode.

The Bold and the Beautiful's Steffy is smarter than Ridge

One would think Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) would have been able to see through Brooke's (Katherine Kelly Lang) machinations and manipulations. But apparently, all he could see was her lingerie, which was what Brooke wanted. After all, she had quite an ask. Brooke knows if she just gets undressed and hands her man a beer, he'll agree to whatever she wantedd. And she was right.

Ridge marched into Eric's (John McCook) office and sheepishly mentioned to Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) that maybe, after about 10 years of doing her job successfully, she should quit and let Brooke step in. No reason. He just wanted to run the company with Brooke now. Steffy was justifiably hurt and outraged until she figured out what was really going on.

Hope (Annika Noelle) had to have put Brooke up to this. Why yes, Steffy, you are absolutely right. She did. But Ridge couldn't see it because Brooke was doing as Brooke does, prancing aroun half naked to get what she wants. Even when Steffy pointed this out, Ridge was in denial. He didn't want to admit that he fell for a sting operation initiated by his 30-something stepdaughter.

Could Hope be more obvious?

Even the clueless and always-self-centered Brooke couldn't see what Hope was up to. It just seemed natural that Hope would start singing her praises out of nowhere and suggest she run Forrester Creations by Ridge's side. Who wouldn't sing Brooke's praises? (Well, nobody, in Brooke's delusional mind.)

And Brooke told Hope what she wanted to hear. With Brooke at the helm, she'd never have to worry about her line again. Hope was giddy with anticipation, but maybe Ridge isn't such a pushover after all. Steffy begged him not to choose Brooke over her as he had done so many times in the past. Will Ridge listen? Brooke thinks the world is now her oyster, but will Ridge have other news? If Steffy rightfully gets her way, that would sure make Liam (Scott Clifton) happy.
