The Bold and the Beautiful's Brooke Logan was this close to becoming the co-CEO alongside Ridge, but ultimately, he opted to keep Steffy in the spot. On the May 18, 2026, edition of the soap, despite Ridge's rejection, Brooke's true agenda became quite clear following her next request.

The Bold and the Beautiful’s Brooke pivoted perfectly

After acting as if being co-CEO with Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) was the single most important milestone that she could achieve, Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) somehow let it go with a whimper. She didn't put up much resistance to the rejection, and that should've been the first sign that something was amiss. Brooke went from practically being on her hands and knees begging Ridge to oust his own daughter to claiming that the title never mattered that much to her in the first place. Was this some kind of long con? It's starting to feel as if Brooke never truly believed she'd ever become the co-CEO, and instead, she was simply softening Ridge up for her true request.

Once Brooke accepted her fate and acknowledged that she wasn't going to fill Steffy's (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) position, she teed up her husband for what she really wanted. All roads lead back to Hope (Annika Noelle) and HFTF being pushed to the back burner in favor of Eric's (John McCook) upcoming couture line. Brooke never would've floated the idea of stepping into the co-CEO role if Hope hadn't pushed her to "remember her worth." It's starting to smell as if the entire thing was an elaborate ruse to shoot for the highest thing possible so that once she asked Ridge for what she actually wanted, he'd be more inclined to back her up.

Turning defeat into leverage

Think about it. Brooke likely knew that Ridge was always going to deny her bid to become his co-CEO. However, Ridge has such a soft spot for his precious Logan that it destroyed him inside to let her down in the way that he did. He was groveling at her feet almost, pleading for forgiveness for being unwilling to remove Steffy from the position. With Ridge in such a vulnerable state, Brooke went in for the kill and brought up what she really wanted, which was for Ridge to do everything in his power to bring Hope's line back from the Forrester graveyard.

From the very beginning, this was about saving Hope's line, and it was easier to create chaos over the co-CEO chair, get Ridge in a defeated state, and then make her legitimate request. Once again, Ridge is being forced to take one of his wife's demands to Steffy and fight on her behalf, but this could cause even further friction because Steffy made her thoughts quite clear about Hope and her line. She doesn't believe that it makes business sense to focus on Hope in the present when Eric is once again a buzzworthy name in the fashion industry. Whether it was Brooke's intention or not, she may have widened the rift between Steffy and her father past the point of no return.
