The Bold and the Beautiful Daily Rehash, May 20: Brooke cares more about destiny than her daughter

The Bold and the Beautiful's Brooke Logan certainly isn't going to win any Mother of the Year awards anytime soon. On the May 20, 2026, edition of the soap, she proved that she will ALWAYS choose Ridge over EVERYTHING.

Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) should be utterly ashamed of herself. Firstly, it was completely unfair to put Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) in the position to choose between his wife and his daughter. There was no way for him to win in that situation, but Brooke didn't care. She had her own agenda, and nothing was going to stand in her way. However, when Ridge came to her with disappointing results, instead of fighting for her daughter with more passion, Brooke engaged in a night of passionate lovemaking. For some reason, Brooke and her omnipresent lack of self-awareness thought Hope (Annika Noelle) was going to take in that information and receive it well. That's far from what happened.

Instead, Brooke stood before a broken version of Hope, one that was suddenly being overwhelmed with years of coming second place to Ridge. Brooke has proven time and time again that she will always choose a man, specifically Ridge, over everyone else in her life. She has spent decades showcasing her inability to truly be there for her children in the way that they need. The second Brooke was able to get back in Ridge's good graces, fighting for her daughter's professional integrity became secondary to maintaining her chokehold on destiny.

Brooke's latest actions shouldn't come as a shocker to Hope or really anyone watching. This is far from the first time that she has done something that has left one of her children devastated. Brooke is the same mother who slept with Hope's boyfriend Oliver while they were masked at a party. Her actions have been repulsive over the years, and this was just the latest in a long line of abhorrent moments as a mother. Even the mere existence of Hope is a prime example of Brooke choosing a man over her daughter's happiness. Hope was conceived as a product of Brooke's affair with Bridget's then-husband, Deacon. There's a clear pattern at play.

Steffy and Hope have experienced two sides of the pain that comes from Brooke and Ridge's endless desire to hold on to their destiny. As long as Brooke and Ridge are walking this Earth, this is just how it's going to be. Hope shouldn't take it too personally because Brooke does this to everyone. Look how she's treating her own sister Katie, simply because she dared to step out of Brooke's shadow. Nobody can get in the way of her and Ridge, and nobody can ever shine brighter than the great Brooke Logan.
