The Bold and the Beautiful writers have thrown us a curveball in the storyline about Eric being Logan's head designer. We assumed he would complete a collection of designs without suffering any health issues. But now that he's dealing with stress, which is having an impact on his health, what's going to happen if he bows out? Will Katie hire Deke to take his place as Logan's head designer?

Eric versus Bill on The Bold and the Beautiful

Let's face it. Working with Bill Spencer (Don Diamont) would be enough to give anyone stress, let alone an eighty-year-old man with health issues like Eric (John McCook). Bill doesn't want to hear about Eric's need for the finest quality silk. Bill doesn't care about the fact that a top-notch designer wants and needs everything to be done right, and that requires time and patience. Bill doesn't have either of those things. All Bill cares about is money. That's why his nickname is Dollar Bill.

So, we can't blame Eric for feeling stressed, plus, add to that his age and the health problems he had a couple of years ago. Eric doesn't like Bill to begin with. On top of all that, Eric realizes that he misses working at his family company, Forrester Creations, surrounded by people who love him. Bill has never given a flying fig about Eric in the past. Why would he start now?

If the stress and pressure ultimately cause Eric to bow out as Katie's (Heather Tom) lead designer, will she hire Deke (Harrison Cone) to take his place?

Did Katie forget all about her conversation with Deke?

Well over a month ago on The Bold and the Beautiful, Katie had a chat with Deke at Il Giardino about how impressed she was with his designs when he was working at FC. She was considering whether his artistic vision matches her own vision for the fashion creations that she wants to market at Logan.

She ended their conversation with encouraging words like, "I'll be talking to you again soon," or something to that effect. We assumed she was going to hire Deke, and we pictured Eric training him. Being mentored by a world-known fashion designer like Eric Forrester would have been the best scenario that Deke could have hoped for. But sadly, that doesn't look like it's going to happen.

We have to wonder, did Katie forget she had that chat with Deke? It happened so many weeks ago, and she's been needing to put together a design team for a long time now. Now that Eric's employment at Logan is on shaky ground because of his elevated stress, will she finally call Deke and ask him to join Logan?

Will Deke have a good working relationship with Bill?

If Katie does decide to hire Deke as head designer at Logan, will he be able to get along with Bill? Their personalities are like night and day. Will Deke's good-natured, soft-spoken personality clash with Bill's blustery, demanding one? After all, Bill may view Deke as a huge risk. We can imagine him saying to Katie, "This kid just graduated from design school! He's still wet behind the ears. What does he know about creating a knockout collection for a fashion house that's competing with Forrester Creations?"

Bill wouldn't be wrong to be concerned. Does Deke have the talent necessary to be head designer? Would he be up for the challenge? It's a huge undertaking for someone who is just starting out in the design industry, someone who doesn't have much experience under his belt.

So, it's going to be interesting to see how everything unfolds. If Katie does hire Deke to replace Eric, will he shock and dazzle everyone with designs like no one in the fashion world has ever seen before? Will everyone, including Ridge (Thorsten Kaye), be blown away by his creations? Stay tuned, B&B fans. It feels like Deke's time to shine may be fast approaching!
