The Bold and the Beautiful may be missing a huge opportunity with Remy

Now that The Bold and the Beautiful's Remy is back on our screens, and we've learned that he is Dylan's cousin, we need to see him in a front-burner storyline. Will, Electra, RJ, and Dylan are the four young adults who have taken center stage for months. Now, Remy needs to have his turn in the spotlight.

Redemption time for Remy on The Bold and the Beautiful

After everyone at Forrester Creations was shocked to learn that Remy (Christian Weissmann) was Deke's (Harrison Cone) boyfriend, we didn't see very much of Remy anymore. He was the guy who created the deep fakes of Electra (Laneya Grace) and posted them on the internet, so no one wanted anything to do with him, including Deke.

Remy pleaded with Deke to give him another chance. He explained that he had lost his way when he made those deep fakes, but he insisted that he was a different person now. Deke's love had inspired him to turn his life around. There is a part of us that felt heartbroken for Remy, and the other part wondered whether we could believe him. Had he truly changed for the better?

Since that emotional scene between him and Deke, Remy only appeared once or twice at Il Giardino to ask Deke (again) to give him another chance. Deke seems unsure what he should do. What's going to become of these two? There is more story to be told, and it isn't only about their broken relationship. There are many more questions about Remy that we need answers to.

Remy has mentioned that he wants to be involved in the fashion industry. Deke has a degree from design school. Did Remy attend design school also? Or does he have raw talent but no degree? Let's see an exploration of his artistic talent. He said he's been taking odd jobs. Perhaps he could take design classes in between those jobs? Since he appears to be a computer whiz of sorts (due to the deep fake incident), maybe he could take online classes in fashion design?

Grey characters are always soapier and more fun

Deke described Remy perfectly. He said that Remy had demons he was struggling with. Remy told his cousin, Melissa Dylan (Sydney Bullock), that he wished they had grown up near each other. If they had, then he might have turned out differently. It's time for us to see what's become of Remy since the deep fake incident. Is he really taking odd jobs? Is he still struggling with his inner demons?

We've seen so much attention on Will (Crew Morrow), Electra, Dylan, and RJ (Brayan Nicoletti) over the past several months. None of those characters, though, is what we would really call grey (even though this latest version of RJ acts like an arrogant, spoiled brat). Sure, Will assaulted RJ, but we wouldn't call Will grey either. Deke is a caring, good-hearted person and not grey in the least. Remy is the only one of the young adults who is squarely in the grey category.

In the soap world, grey characters are more fun to watch because we always wonder whether they will be tempted to revert to their dark side. They have serious flaws and an edge that the "good" characters don't have, which gives them an air of mystery. Their inner demons make them feel more three-dimensional, realistic, and human. Even though they've done some bad things, we feel like we can root for them because they strive to be better people.

Since RJ returned to Forrester Creations, we've been seeing too much of his battle with Will over Electra. We know the B&B writers are continuing the feud that their fathers, Bill (Don Diamont) and Ridge (Thorsten Kaye), started years ago. But now, we need to see the RJ/Will feud take a temporary backseat so we can get a full exploration of Remy's character and his relationships with Dylan and Deke.

Let's see more of his family dynamic with Dylan. She shouldn't let her friendship with Electra prevent her from being a caring cousin to Remy. Yes, he did a horrible thing. But if a thirty-year-long murderer, kidnapper, and baby switcher like Sheila (Kimberlin Brown) can be "redeemed," then why not Remy? Heck, Sheila is even friends with one of her victims! Her bestie, Li (Naomi Matsuda), acts like she totally forgot that Sheila ran her car off the road a few years ago and nearly killed her.

Is Remy keeping dark secrets about Luna?

Even though we've been told that Luna (Lisa Yamada) is dead, we never found out whether the police recovered her body. Remy was friends with Luna, and he even visited her in prison. Does he know that Dylan was the person who accidentally ran her down? It would be interesting to hear his reaction if he found out, considering that Dylan is his cousin.

Remy felt a connection to Luna because they had both done horrible things. They were outcasts and kindred spirits, even though his crime wasn't nearly as severe as all of her crimes. He was her only friend. Who knows whether she is really alive and will pop up in Los Angeles a year or two from now? Perhaps she faked her death and fled L.A. Maybe Remy knows she's alive, and he helped her create a new identity so she could start a new life for herself in another state or country. Some B&B fans are expecting her to show up in L.A. again someday with the child she was carrying when we last saw her -- Will's child.

It feels like there is more to the Remy/Luna story than we've seen play out on our screens, which is another reason why we need to see him featured in a major storyline. What do you think, B&B fans? Do you want to see Remy showcased in a prominent storyline? Tell us your opinions!
