What happened on The Bold and the Beautiful
On Wednesday's new episode of The Bold and the Beautiful, Katie observed how worked up Bill's demands got Eric, and she wanted to proceed more cautiously. Bill didn't agree that Eric's health was in jeopardy. Katie couldn't help but worry about Eric. Working with him was a dream, but she didn't want that to compromise his health. He had been far too amazing to Katie over the years, and she didn't want to do anything that put him at risk.
Bill pointed out that Eric came to her about designing for Logan. Katie understood her husband's concerns, but she wanted to be more mindful of Eric's health and well-being. Katie sent Donna a text and asked if everything was fine with Eric.
Donna hadn't responded, which gave Katie a bad feeling. Her sister was usually glued to her phone. Katie assumed that something negative was happening, so Bill offered to accompany her. He could help mitigate the fallout from whatever happened.
Ridge asked Eric what the purpose of the designs was. Brooke noted that Eric must've been sketching nonstop and that the line looked exquisite. Ridge wanted more answers about what it was and asked Eric to be truthful.
Brooke and Ridge believed that the collection could thrive as Forrester Originals. Ridge was impressed by the designs and offered Eric a chance to include them in the couture line. This was the biggest olive branch that Ridge had extended, and the ball was firmly in Eric's court.
Eric grew upset at the idea of Ridge noticing the sketches. They weren't for his eyes. Ridge inquired about Eric's health, but Donna assured him that nothing was happening medically. Ridge understood that Eric was retired, but he was always welcome at the office. There was no reason for him to avoid Forrester.
Ridge pitched an idea for Eric to mentor the younger generation of Forrester designers, a move that could change everything at Forrester on The Bold and the Beautiful. He begged Eric to make the designs a part of couture. The only thing standing in the way of Eric returning to the company he founded was his own pride and ego. Brooke advocated for husband, and Ridge changed his stance and realized Eric still belonged in the industry.
Ridge gave a grand speech, which reminded Eric of how timeless his talents were. Donna wanted Brooke and Ridge to admit that they were wrong about Eric. They did. Eric appreciated it as well, and he told them he was touched by the kind words. Ridge was thrilled at the prospect of working with his father. He even suggested they use the Italian silk that Bill rejected at Logan. This was the opportunity of a lifetime.
As much as Eric wanted to come back to Forrester, he couldn't. He confessed that he did something. Bill and Katie walked through the door, moments before Eric was about to expose the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but. Ridge wanted to know why they were there.
Bill and Ridge went back-and-forth about the latter's treatment of his father. Ridge touted Eric's latest designs, so Katie decided to take matters into her own hands. Katie appreciated everything that Eric had done for her life and career, but she needed to come clean. She declared, "Eric is the lead designer for Logan." Ridge and Brooke's jaws dropped to the floor.
At Spencer, Liam looked over some of Eric's sketches that were laid out on Bill's desk. Hope dropped by unexpectedly to visit Liam at the office. She noticed that something was off with her husband and asked what troubled him. Liam denied that anything was bothering him.
Hope was actually there to visit Katie. She wanted to see if she could do anything to fix the growing rift between Katie and her mother, Brooke. Hope also wondered who the designer was, but in the middle of her rant about it, Liam gave up subtle clues. Hope knew that Liam uncovered the identity of the mystery designer, but he was sworn to secrecy.
Hope spotted the designs on Bill's desk and assumed they belonged to Katie's designer. She retracted any concerns she had about the launch of Katie's company. Hope even remarked that they resembled Forrester originals. As Hope got closer to the truth, Liam admitted he had something to confess.
Hope was worried it was bad, and Liam came clean, telling her he eventually learned the designer's identity. Liam said the person was a legend in the fashion industry and that she knew them.
