The Bold and the Beautiful Recap, February 5: Steffy takes Taylor’s secret to Ridge

On the February 5, 2026 episode of The Bold and the Beautiful, Liam lied to Hope and Brooke, Deacon and Taylor kissed again, and Steffy spilled everything about Taylor and Deacon to Ridge.

Steffy drowned her sorrows about Taylor in a glass of wine, and Finn served as a source of comfort. Finn was sorry about everything Steffy was facing with Taylor. Steffy explained that she was left with no choice other than to issue her mother an ultimatum. She couldn’t risk unleashing Sheila on their family.

The idea of Sheila finding out about Deacon and Taylor terrified Steffy because of how unpredictable she was. She couldn’t even allow herself to go there. It simply could not happen. Finn questioned how Taylor reacted to the threat because there was no way she’d be willing to risk losing her family.

Steffy floated the idea of bringing Ridge into the loop about Taylor and Deacon’s connection. Perhaps Ridge could snap Taylor back into reality. Even better, Steffy hoped that Taylor would phone her and reveal that she had cut Deacon off. It was a stretch, but she believed it was best for their entire family.

At their apartment, Sheila noticed that Deacon drifted off in the middle of their conversation. She asked who was on his mind, clearly noticing something. Sheila was certain that Deacon’s thoughts were on more than the restaurant, and she assumed it had something to do with Taylor.

Sheila was proud of Deacon for talking through his feelings with Taylor. Instead of bottling up his emotions and exploding at a later date, Deacon worked through his issues. Taylor changed Deacon for the better, and Sheila was eternally grateful.

As Sheila droned on about Taylor’s incredible abilities as a therapist, Deacon thought back to the passionate kiss they shared after professing their sudden, undying love for one another.

In her office, Taylor reflected on Steffy’s ultimatum. She was faced with the choice of a lifetime, and her heart was pulled in two very different directions. Taylor was unwilling to lose her daughter and grandchildren, but at the same time, she hated the idea of losing Deacon from her life.

Deacon raced to Taylor’s office because he couldn’t stop thinking about her. His love for Taylor had taken over every facet of his brain. There was nothing and nobody that could prevent him from lusting after her, and the magnetic pull kept growing stronger.

Taylor longed for the freedom to explore a relationship with Deacon. The urge to kiss him was more prominent than ever. Deacon wondered if Steffy was bluffing about cutting Taylor off, but they both knew she wasn’t. Sheila was quite possibly the biggest threat to any of their lives, and Steffy wouldn’t risk it.

Deacon no longer felt emotionally connected to his wife. He would always cherish Sheila, but the chemistry had evaporated. Taylor was the only woman for him, and that was all it took for the two to find themselves in another forbidden kiss.

In the CEO’s office, Ridge expressed to Brooke how much he missed designing with Eric. However, he stood by his stance to look after his father’s health. Brooke reminded Ridge that the door remained open for Eric to come back to Forrester if retirement didn’t work out.

Brooke understood how complicated things were between Eric and Ridge. The forced retirement was shocking, and it caught Eric completely by surprise. She hoped that Eric understood how much Ridge cared about him. Love was never in question.

Hope walked in during the conversation, and she, too, wished her aunt would pick a different name for her company. Hope asked if anyone had heard who the mystery designer was, but it remained the biggest industry secret. Brooke had confidence in Katie’s ability to attract a decent designer for her company, even if Ridge was dead set on her sister’s failure.

After the ladies left, Steffy stopped by to have a serious conversation with her father. Ridge confided in Steffy about how worried he was. Something felt off. While he was referring to Eric, Steffy explained that something was indeed off — but it was Taylor who was in crisis.

Steffy told Ridge that Taylor’s situation was “really bad.” At first, she explained that Taylor’s new love interest was married, which Ridge didn’t think was the worst thing in the world. However, it was far more dire than that. Taylor was in love with Sheila Carter’s husband. Ridge’s jaw dropped to the floor at the news.

At Spencer, Liam remained shocked that Eric was Katie’s new designer. Despite being married to Hope, Liam was sworn to secrecy, which was how Eric wanted things. Liam wasn’t thrilled with keeping Hope in the dark, but he understood why it needed to remain under wraps.

Liam knew that the news of Eric as Katie’s lead designer would cause significant rifts within the Forrester family. Bill wanted Eric to complete his collection before anyone caught wind of his new role. Eric working for Logan was going to be the media story of the century. There was arguably no story that would create more buzz for their company.

Bill was worried about the information coming out before they were ready. Liam took the hint and realized that his father was directing it at him. Hope and Brooke, in particular, had to remain far away from the reality of the situation.

Brooke and Hope returned home, and Hope noticed that something troubled her mother. The Logan name situation still bothered Brooke, but she was happy that Hope had found peace after remarrying Liam.

Liam walked through the door, and Hope remarked that Brooke was using their marriage to distract from the ongoing battle between the Logan siblings. Brooke missed seeing and working with Katie, and Hope also found it strange to be at the office without Eric.

Liam was forced to keep his mouth shut while Brooke and Hope speculated about Katie’s designer and how Eric was handling retirement. Nobody could know the truth, or Katie’s company risked collapsing before it even got off the ground.

Nobody had really seen Eric since Christmas, so they didn’t know how retirement was working out for him. It was an odd change of pace for someone who spent his entire life creating. Hope asked Liam if he had learned the identity of the mystery designer, but Liam pretended to be aloof.
