The Bold and the Beautiful Recap, February 9: Ridge pops Taylor and Deacon's love bubble

What happened on The Bold and the Beautiful

Ridge asked Deacon to prove to him that he loved Taylor by walking away and preventing Sheila from retaliating. Deacon left the office after Taylor gave him the go-ahead, which left the exes together in the same room to battle it out.

Ridge pointed out that Sheila could've been the person to walk in instead of him. However, Taylor was primed to call out Ridge for his lack of commitment. All she's wanted for years was someone who was wholeheartedly invested in her, and since he went back to Brooke, that no longer concerned him.

Ridge didn't care what Taylor wanted. This was about what she needed to remain safe. Sheila was a ticking time bomb, and Deacon and Taylor's affair put everyone they loved in grave danger. Ridge asked her to understand that pursuing Deacon would bring the mayhem of Sheila, and nobody needed to suffer through that.

Taylor fired back, saying she was ready to find her own destiny. She spent so long being second place to Brooke, and her connection with Deacon took her out of that. Ridge reminded Taylor that this wasn't about their past, and he warned her that Sheila would take out her insecurities and anger on her.

Everyone was scared that Taylor's decision to pursue something with Deacon was going to provoke Sheila. He asked Taylor if she understood what he was saying. Taylor sighed and sat down, and she admitted that Ridge was right.

Ridge took Taylor's hands in his own and vowed to make her happy. However, this wasn't the way, and Taylor ultimately agreed that he was correct and Deacon wasn't. the right choice. She told him, "I find love, and it has to be over."

At Il Giardino, Sheila approached Deke and asked if Deacon was still nowhere to be found. Deke wasn't sure when his father would return or where he was. Sheila knew that Deacon was at a late-night session with Taylor, but she wanted him home as quickly as possible.

Sheila had a romantic surprise planned for her husband. However, she once again pleaded with Deke to give her a chance. All she wanted was for her step-son to like her. To gain some sympathy points, Sheila placed her foot on a chair and highlighted her two missing toes. However, it appeared to anger Deke, doing nothing to win his good graces.

Sheila chuckled as Deke asked her to put away her missing toes. The first toe was cut off to fake her own death. However, the second toe was lost in the processing of saving Steffy's life and taking a bullet from Luna. Sheila noticed how miserable Deke was at the restaurant and asked him to try to smile a bit more.

Sheila asked Deke to try to find it within himself to be happy for what she and Deacon shared. Deke's appetite disappeared after the three-toe show, and despite how much she tried, he couldn't get past Sheila's questionable past.

Sheila switched tactics and reminded Deke how thrilled Deacon was to work with his son. She wished that he didn't harbor negative feelings toward her because she believed they were onto something special. Deke was fine getting paid to work there, but he was uninterested in any further bonding with Sheila.

As per usual, Sheila refused to accept someone's boundaries, and she told Deke, "I'm not going to give up. You are going to like me. Your dad certainly does." Sheila chuckled and demanded that Deke respect Deacon's decision to marry her.

Sheila stared Deke in the eye and threatened, "You don't wanna try to come between us, Deke. Or I'll kill you." Deke turned pale with fear, but Sheila burst into manic laughter. She was simply joking around, but with her violent history, Deke was stone-faced and serious. A threat from Sheila would always be perceived as genuine.

Sheila promised she had seen the light and that her criminal days were long behind her. She confided in him that it would bother her if someone came in and tried to destroy her marriage. After Sheila walked away, Deke looked troubled, especially since he was aware of Deacon and Taylor's connection.

Deacon returned to the restaurant, and Deke immediately asked if he was doing okay. Deacon confirmed that he was fine, and he headed upstairs, where he found Sheila surrounded by lit candles and romance.

Deacon told Sheila he wasn't up for it, and she asked whether something had happened during his therapy session with Taylor. He lied, saying it was bad timing, and luckily, Sheila didn't press him too hard for answers.

Dylan was shown eating a pizza slice from the Il Giardino dumpster, which proved that she didn't get that far. She was back to being homeless and hungry and living out of her vehicle.

The new Forrester receptionist gawked over RJ, but he didn't give her the time of day. He was focused on getting into the office and speaking with Brooke. RJ asked where Ridge was, but Brooke had no idea. She was completely in the dark about her husband playing the hero for his ex.

Brooke pried for information about her son's personal life. She wondered if any special girls had caught his eye. However, so far, Electra was the only one who captured his attention. Unfortunately, she was in a committed relationship with Will, so she was off-limits.

Brooke brought up what Will and Electra did for Dylan, and she was a bit surprised to hear that RJ had met her, too. Brooke wished that things panned out for Dylan at Forrester, which sparked RJ's concern. He asked what his mother meant.

Brooke told him that Dylan was slated to get the receptionist job, but Jamie had been promoted to the position, so it ultimately went to her. Beyond that, she felt for Dylan because of how she was forced to live out of her car after the hostage situation at the beach house with Luna.
