The Bold and the Beautiful Recap, January 22: Steffy forbids Deacon from pursuing Taylor

On the January 22, 2026, episode of The Bold and the Beautiful, Electra drew a new boundary for Dylan, Hope pleaded with Taylor to give Deacon a chance, and Steffy demanded that Deacon stay with Sheila and leave Taylor alone.

At the guest house, Dylan started applying for art teacher positions. Unfortunately, some of the qualifications asked for a Master's Degree, which looked overwhelming.

One of the Forrester interns thanked Steffy for supporting her in her bid for the receptionist job. Steffy didn't recall making any promises at first, but after telling Electra that Dylan would get it, she seemed stressed.

Electra entered the office and discussed an upcoming business trip for Forrester with her Aunt Ivy. Steffy gave Electra the bad news that Jamie was a better fit for the position than Dylan. With Jamie being promoted, Dylan could try to become an intern or look for work elsewhere.

Electra ran into Will in one of the design rooms and was disappointed to hear that Dylan had eaten her share of teriyaki chicken. Electra asked whether she was easily replaceable, and she was devastated that there was no chicken left for her.

Will promised to make Electra extra chicken once she returned from her business trip. Electra wondered how Will and Dylan ended up having a dinner for two in the first place. She wished that Will had a quiet evening alone, and she didn't think that it should have happened.

Will recalled the events from the previous night and admitted that he had invited Dylan to dinner after she did their laundry. Electra assured Will that she planned to handle Dylan herself and told him not to worry.

After Will departed, Dylan dropped by the office, which gave Electra a perfect opportunity to confront her boyfriend's new houseguest. She reminded Dylan of the need to respect her relationship with Will and brought up their dinner from the night before.

Dylan defended herself, saying she originally insisted on not joining him. Electra told Dylan not to get too comfortable at Will's house. Dylan thought she was being respectful, but she saw how hurt Electra was, so she promised to do better.

Dylan said she worked to find a place as quickly as possible, and Electra accepted it. However, she told Dylan to be more mindful of her actions so it would never happen again.

Hope dropped by Steffy's house to talk with Taylor. Taylor explained that the content of her sessions with Deacon was confidential, so she was confused about what Hope wanted to speak about. Hope was there to discuss Taylor's personal feelings for Deacon and how to proceed.

Taylor acted as if she didn't know what Hope was talking about. Hope explained that Deacon had opened up to her about his feelings, and she assumed Taylor felt the same way about her father. Hope thought Deacon was a great catch and touted all his recent accomplishments. Deacon worked hard to turn his life around.

Hope pondered the possibility of a future between Taylor and Deacon, and she stunned Taylor when she revealed that she supported them being together. Taylor was uncomfortable with the content of the conversation. However, Hope begged Taylor not to encourage Deacon to remain in his marriage with Sheila.

Taylor couldn't divulge anything that she'd advise Deacon to do. Hope decided to rip off the bandage and expose Deacon's fear of leaving Sheila. He was terrified of Sheila's reaction to his eventual departure from their marriage.

Hope told Taylor that she always put her own needs ahead of others. She recalled how long they'd been in each other's lives, and that was something that she noticed. Hope encouraged Taylor to put her own happiness first for a chance, and she believed that Deacon was the way to make that happen.

At his apartment, Deacon looked at his wedding photo with Sheila, and it was evident that he struggled with what to do. However, he couldn't help thinking of Taylor and their time together during the sessions.

Steffy interrupted Deacon's trip down memory lane and asked where Sheila was so she could speak freely. Steffy was there to make it clear to Deacon that her mother was off limits. She also told Deacon that she advised Taylor to stop seeing Deacon in a professional capacity.

Steffy warned Deacon that he was married to a psycho, so she'd never allow him to pursue a romance with Taylor. She insisted that Deacon needed to live with the choices that he made and stick it out with Sheila.

Deacon understood Steffy's need to protect her mother, and although he was sorry for what Sheila had done, he believed Steffy was overreacting. Steffy asked if Sheila ever pointed a gun at him or any of his loved ones.

Steffy accused Deacon of using Taylor to escape his marriage to Sheila. Deacon explained that wasn't the case at all and listed all the reasons that made Taylor so special. Steffy knew that Deacon had genuinely fallen for Taylor, but she was vehemently against it.

Taylor was ditched by Ridge for Brooke, again, and Deacon would be the ultimate rebound. Steffy was disgusted once Deacon admitted his feelings. She was convinced that any woman that Deacon left Sheila for would inevitably become a target. She refused to allow Deacon to provoke Sheila's wrath against Taylor.
