The Bold and the Beautiful Recap, June 4: Steffy questions the timing of Hope's sudden exit

What happened on The Bold and the Beautiful

Steffy brought up Hope's sudden absence from the company, which would absolutely impact future plans for the company. Steffy thought that the timing was best for everyone because they could focus on Eric's line without her interference. However, she wanted a much different Hope upon her return. The attitude about HFTF was creating a toxic work environment, and Steffy was over it.

Steffy offered to take some time out of her day to speak with Hope about walking away from Forrester. She was hoping to smooth over some of the tension by having a face-to-face conversation with her. Ridge expressed some guilt about ever suggesting that Steffy step down in favor of Brooke, but she brushed it aside and made it seem like it was water under the bridge.

More questions than answers

With Brooke and Ridge busy for the rest of the day, Deke and Hope were able to speak freely about their future at Logan. He wanted her to be sure that she was willing to stab her mother in the back. At least, that is how Brooke would view it. She would consider this the ultimate betrayal and blame Katie for furthering the rift within the family.

Giving up Hope for the Future was going to be a difficult decision, but it was one that she couldn't help but make. She needed a change more than anyone, and with her brother, husband, and in-laws by her side, there was nothing she couldn't accomplish. However, despite Deke's close relationships with Dylan and Electra, she insisted that he keep the news a secret from them as well.

Steffy showed up at Hope's doorstep, and she wanted to discuss why Hope was suddenly taking a break from Forrester Creations. The timing didn't make any sense to Steffy because it came after they assured her that her line would be making a comeback.

Things were not adding up, and if Hope wasn't careful, Steffy would come to the one conclusion that she didn't want. Hope hinted numerous times that she would walk away and take her talents elsewhere, so realizing she is headed to Logan wasn't too far-fetched.

With friends like Dylan...

Electra and Dylan talked like inseparable friends, showing that they were serious about making things work. Both of them were still trying to process Will's firing, with the man they loved being unceremoniously cast off. Will couldn't handle R.J. sniffing around their relationship, and unfortunately it led to him losing his temper and taking things to a place of violence.

This came at the worst time for Electra and Will. They finally made their way back to each other after months apart, and although they lived together, their dream of spending all day together went up in smoke. How long would they be able to survive the weight of R.J. and Dylan lurking around and waiting for a moment to strike?

Building a better future

Katie told Will that his father wanted to celebrate him coming to the family company, but Will was still miffed about R.J. ousting him. Will was excited to work with his family, but that didn't mean he wasn't upset about how everything went down. He was concerned about R.J. making an increase in moves toward Electra with him out of the picture.

Will was ready to make the most of his opportunity at Logan. Will understood how important making Logan a success was to his mother. Brooke was constantly treating Katie like her pathetic little sister, and he knew about how his aunt nearly tore their family apart. Brooke's pursuit of Bill had ripped their family in half before, and he wanted Katie to have the world. She was finally living her dream, and he was able to be a small part of making that happen.

Katie and Will shared a sweet moment about her divorce from when he was a child. She knew all of the times that he hid his emotions from her, trying his best to stay strong for her. There was no denying that a part of Will broke when Bill betrayed his family, and although everything was better now, it was important to reflect on how far they'd come.
