The Bold and the Beautiful Rehash, May 12: Ridge needs a backbone as he destroys Steffy's world

The Bold and the Beautiful is not a soap filled with a ton of likable and relatable characters and Steffy is no exception. However, nobody deserves to be fired from their job for no reason whatsoever, but that is exactly what Ridge tried to do on the Tuesday, May 12th episode.

What the heck is Ridge thinking?

Let us get this straight. Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) spent a long day at the office to come home to Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) in her lingerie, sipping wine while offering him a beer. He happily accepted and listened to her pitch to become the new Forrester CEO and oust Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood). Ridge protested for about a minute, but Brooke took him to bed and that was that.

By the next morning, Brooke had him all convinced to head to work and fire his daughter out of nowhere. She informed Hope (Annika Noelle) it was about to be done, as a satisfied and accomplished smile appeared on Hope's face. She manipulated her mother into asking for a promotion, her mother listened, and now Ridge was listening to her mother. Everything was happening just the way she wanted.

But nothing was happening the way Steffy wanted it. When a sheepish Ridge began to hint at a new Forrester Creations CEO team, Steffy couldn't imagine that Ridge was trying to replace her. When she realized that was what was going on, she nearly lost it. And frankly, who can blame her?

Soaps play the musical CEO game constantly, but rarely do we see a character make up their mind overnight to fire their own daughter. Yes, Steffy can be a pill and does try to lord over Hope, but otherwise, the company is doing well and Steffy is doing a good job.

How does Ridge have the audacity to tell her she has to step down so the woman he marries and divorces like he breathes can take her job? Hopefully, Steffy realizes who planted the bug in Brooke's ear. That means Hope's plan will backfire and she will end up at Logan, while alienating even more people along the way. Did anyone really think Hope and Steffy's rivalry ended with Liam's (Scott Clifton) fake tumor last year? Nope, we didn't think so.
